Live Santa Watch Webcam 2020 - Santa spotted Again!

OUR annual Santa Watch Webcam has captured the big man himself a few times over Christmas Eve and in the early hours of Christmas Day. The Camera this year was sponsored by:- Beyond-Books.Co.UK, a local online Book Shop. We also joined up with:- emailSanta.com and a few other Santa Watch websites, in the UK, Canada, Australia and in the USA. Despite connection issues, that meant we had to take down the YouTube Live feed, the webcam was live throughout the night. These are a few photos it captured... Did you see him on it?

Wayne Rooney Foundation funding Childline on Christmas Day

THE Wayne Rooney Foundation has donated ₤30,000 to fund the confidential helpline Childline on Christmas Day. The Foundation; led by NSPCC Ambassador for Childhood Wayne Rooney; gave ₤75,000 overall to the NSPCC to help them run service, that are a lifeline to thousands of children who often have nowhere else to turn, covering the sosts of running the service on Christmas Day. He is also backing the NSPCC's Here for Children Christmas appeal and urged people to help the charity continue its vital work preventing abuse and keeping children safe. Childline has been a crucial source of support through the Coronavirus Pandemic; and will continue to be there for children throughout the festive period. From April to the end of October, Childline carried out nearly 140,000 counselling sessions. Christmas can be an extremely difficult time for children suffering abuse and neglect, and the impact of the Pandemic could put even more children at risk. To help protect children stuck at home in environments that are not safe, the charity is urging the public to search "NSPCC" and donate online. Wayne has been an NSPCC Ambassador since 2015 and the Foundation has donated ₤425,000 to date; pledging to raise up to ₤1m in total.

Wayne Rooney said:- "It's very upsetting to know that there are children out there who are really suffering and might be dreading Christmas. The Pandemic has had a devastating impact on many young lives, and it's so important that Childline is there for young people when they need it most. I'm backing the NSPCC's Here for Children Christmas appeal as the Pandemic has shown that we need the NSPCC and Childline now, more than ever, to be there for children and give them somewhere to turn."

Childline founder Dame Esther Rantzen said:- "I remember one survivor of abuse telling me: ‘When I was a child, hearing other children talking about their happy Christmas was like looking through a window to see warmth and love and happiness, when I was outside, alone in the cold.' That is why it is so crucial that Childline is available throughout the holiday period for the children and young people who need us desperately. Our volunteers and staff will be giving up their time to comfort and protect young people throughout Christmas and the New Year, but we couldn't help a single child without the support of generous donors like Wayne and his Foundation. We are so grateful, we know that this is a tough time for everyone, especially children who are suffering abuse, neglect, depression or anxiety, and we are deeply grateful to Wayne for sponsoring our vital Childline service on Christmas Day."

Childline will be open through the festive period on:- 08001111 or Childline.Org.UK.
