'Night Time Ambassadors' support Sefton's Hospitality Sector

NIGHT Time Ambassadors took Sefton's streets for the 1st time, on Friday, 21 May 2021, to support businesses in the Borough's busy hospitality sector. The 1st weekend since the latest Covid19 lockdown lifting, which includes:- a return to seated indoor drinking and dining, saw the Council's 5, 2 person teams out and about.

Funded through the Council's Public Health Service, their role is to provide landlords, owners and managers with advice on how to comply with the latest Coronavirus restrictions. These include the need for customers to remain seated while eating and drinking and the requirement for everyone to be signed in using the Covid app QR Code process.

Over the 1st weekend they managed to visit around 700 businesses, the vast majority and which welcomed the initiative. The Ambassadors reported that the overall level of compliance was good and that they were able to provide advice at a small number of premises that weren't aware of all requirements. Over the coming weekends, Sefton Council's Night Time Ambassadors will be visiting:- pubs, bars and restaurants, cafés and take aways between:- 12 noon and 10pm, on:- Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council's Cabinet Member for Regulatory, Compliance and Corporate Services said:- "The lockdown relaxation introduced last week represents a huge change in what people can and can't do, particularly in relation to Sefton's busy hospitality sector. With many people keen to take advantage of the changes, which include being able to eat and drink indoors while seated, at pubs, bars and restaurants, this weekend, we are keen to provide support in helping those businesses manage the revised restrictions and requirements. Which is where our Night Time Ambassadors come in. Over this 1st weekend, the teams managed to visit around 700 premises, received a good reception and reported back that once again the Borough's businesses have stepped up and are implementing the required restrictions. Between 12 noon and 10pm, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, they will be out visiting a range of premises, offering advice and information to managers, landlords and owners."

To ensure they are easily identifiable by managers and customers, all 10 will be wearing high viz showing they are:- 'Night Time Ambassadors.' Each of the staff, who are licensed employees of leading Merseyside security provider Logika Security Limited, have been trained by Sefton Council. As well as visiting businesses to provide support, the Ambassadors will discuss any breaches of the Coronavirus requirements they see, to try and help resolve the situation and ensure the safety of customers and staff. Initially, the Night Time Ambassadors are focusing on those parts of Sefton, where there are concentrations of hospitality venues, but they will aim to visit establishments of various type and sizes right across the Borough.

Cllr Lappin continued:- "Although the recent relaxation measures represented a major change in restrictions, which we're all keen to enjoy, it's important that we remember the Covid19 virus, including the variant 1st identified in India, is still definitely with us across Sefton. Businesses in the hospitality sector need to make sure they have the measures in place to protect their customers and their staff. And we, as customers, drinkers and diners, all need to do our bit by making sure we follow the restrictions that are in place to keep us, our friends and families safe."

Mark Patrickson, Director of Logika Security Limited said:- "I am pleased that we have been able to work with Sefton Council and that our employees are providing this valuable service to help create an environment where people can enjoy themselves while also staying safe."

Romesh Ranganathan:- 'The Cynic's Mixtape' UK Tour 2019 / 2022

DUE to the crisis, Romesh Ranganathan's tour:- 'THE CYNIC'S MIXTAPE' was postponed. Now, we are delighted to announce that all the dates have been rescheduled. Having started the tour, in September 2019, it's his most brutally honest show yet. It's also his biggest to date, having sold out venues in record time across the UK; including a phenomenal 12 nights at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Fresh from BAFTA winning:- 'The Ranganation,' 'The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan' (also BAFTA winning) and 'A League Of Their Own,' Romesh is putting showbiz aside to deliver a carefully curated selection of all the things he has found unacceptable since his last tour, including:- why trying to save the environment is a scam, why none of us are truly free, and his suspicion that his wife is using gluten intolerance to avoid sleeping with him.

Romesh's cynicism has become his trademark, but since being nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Awards this deadpan humour has made him 1 of Britain's most respected and popular comics. Now, though, the Asian Provocateur has returned to his stand up roots for a while; there's things he needs to point out, discuss and have a good moan about. Care to join him?

The last few years have been incredible for Romesh. Now a household name, he is best known for his BAFTA and RTS Award winning series:- 'The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan,' his weekly topical show The Ranganation, and his Sky 1 sitcom:- 'The Reluctant Landlord.' He's travelled the globe with Rob Beckett in:- 'Rob and Romesh Vs,' been a regular and host of:- 'A League of Their Own,' and starred in the show that 1st brought:- 'Romesh' and his mum to the public consciousness, the BAFTA nominated Asian Provocateur.

Romesh has even managed to squeeze in writing his autobiography:- 'Straight Outta Crawley - The Memoirs of a Distinctly Average Human Being,' which became a Sunday Times Bestseller. His 2nd boo:- 'As Good as It Gets - Life Lessons from a Reluctant Adult,' was released in October 2020.

2019 saw Romesh return to his stand up roots, with him heading back out on the road with his biggest tour to date:- 'The Cynic's Mixtape,' which sold out theatres in record time across the UK, including a phenomenal 12 nights, at the Eventim Apollo. Wrapping up the year with a bang, Romesh joined Rob Beckett to host the prestigious Royal Variety Performance, at the iconic London Palladium, entertaining the Royals and viewers, at home with his signature dry wit.

Romesh embarked on his career in America in 2018 with the launch of his own series:- 'Just Another Immigrant' on Showtime. His spell in America also saw him appear twice on James Corden's Late Late Show and debut on:- 'The Late Show' with Stephen Colbert. Romesh returned to America, at the start of 2020, with a 4 night sell out run, at SoHo Playhouse, in New York.

Amongst all of this, he still finds time to record his award winning podcast:- 'Hip Hop Saved My Life,' which has welcomed stars including:- 'Kano, Louis Theroux,' Mark Ronson, DJ Premier, Clara Amfo, Little Simz and Jamie Redknapp.

Romesh will perform at the Liverpool Empire Theatre, over:- 29 May to 30 May 2022. Tickets are on sale now from:- ATGTickets.Com.

It's non stop for 1 of the hardest working comedians in the game! Further information visit:- RomeshRanganathan.Co.UK/Tour.
