Robbie Williams' X Factor choir release debut single

LIVERPOOL'S LMA Choir, who were mentored by Robbie Williams in 2018's The X Factor, have launched their debut single:- 'Best Life.' The choir, which was created at media, music and performing arts institution LMA, became the 1st ever choir to make it through to the live shows of the TV talent contest, with judge Robbie forming a close bond with the group. They went on to perform alongside the star at Wembley and Hyde Park in 2019, in addition to honing their own sound and performing across the country.

Now, their track, which is available to download, is the vocal group's 1st original release, with the lyrics designed to uplift and inspire, according to head of LMA Choir, Stephanie Wallace-Carr. Stephanie, who is also Creative Director of Musical Theatre and Dance, at LMA, said:- "We've been working on our own material for some time now and we felt there was a real gap in the market for positive, uplifting music, especially after the last 18 months. We've all experienced a very strange, tough period in our lives throughout the Pandemic and, as we know, it's taken a huge toll on our mental health. So, we wanted to create something that was really motivating and that sent an important message, too. The term:- 'living your best life' is such a widely used phrase nowadays, but we want to shift the meaning and encourage people to live their best life by simply being themselves, feeling body positive, being kind and living in the moment."

Produced by American producer BizKit, who has worked with the likes of Beyonce and John Legend, Best Life was recorded at LMA's Liverpool Campus, at the Metquarter. BizKit said:- "We love challenges so when we heard LMA Choir was a pop and soul choir, we had to hop at the opportunity. Even though we worked on the music over the internet during the:- 'pajama jam' (Pandemic), we had tonnes of fun producing for them. This is just the 1st song we have worked on together and we hope everyone enjoys listening as much as we had creating."

The song features vocals from the whole choir and, after hearing the finished version, Robbie Williams, who is also a co-owner of LMA, gave his seal of approval. Stephanie added:- "We made the decision early on that we wanted everyone to have their chance to shine on this track so there is no lead vocalist and, instead, it's a real blend of every member. We played it back to Robbie recently and he loved it; he said he loved how catchy and upbeat it was so we're really looking forward to seeing what everyone else thinks! Releasing our debut single is something that's always been a dream of ours and to finally be doing just that feels amazing; we've got lots of ideas for an album and we're also really eager to tour eventually, so watch this space!"

Best Life is available to download on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music now. For more information about LMA, visit:- LMA.AC.UK.

Now is the time to enrol at KGV 6th Form College in Southport

NOW is the time to enrol at KGV 6th Form College in Southport; and tutors can't wait to welcome students back this September 2021. The College, which is based on Scarisbrick New Road in Southport, is a Centre of Academic Excellence which last week celebrated some outstanding A-Level results. An incredible 99% of the KGV 6th Form College class of 2021 have been accepted at their 1st choice university. It is testament to the quality of education on offer, the tremendous support which has been provided by tutors and the determination of students whose achievements were earned despite the challenges presented by the Covid Pandemic. Those studying vocational qualifications also received excellent results for their BTEC Advanced Level Extended Diplomas, equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

Assistant Principal Stephen Musa said:- "Students at KGV Sixth Form College in Southport have a wide range of courses to choose from. Many go on to university to study courses such as veterinary science, medicine, law, with some students accepted at Oxbridge or gaining places at universities in The Russell Group. Our outcomes are excellent. This is an inspiring place to study and learn. Our students achieve fantastic results and progress on to great things. Students at KGV are treated as young adults with the 6th form College a stepping stone to University, a degree apprenticeship or employment. The campus has free on site parking for students and the College offers free travel passes. There are also excellent facilities, which include a large Study Centre, a brand new MUGA, refurbished science labs and a recently built creative arts building. The College has a real sense of community and a warm, happy atmosphere. There is a packed extracurricular programme, including:- DoE, Sports Academy, drama productions and career boosting programmes such as Lawyers of Tomorrow or Future Leaders.

KGV 6th Form College suffered a dip in standards and student numbers a few years ago, under a very different regime, but it has since bounced back well. In recent years things have changed for the better. Stephen Musa said:- "The teaching, support and results for our students is excellent. No student needs to feel that they have to travel outside of Sefton for their post-16 education. There has previously been a perception that standards of education are better at other Colleges; that is not the case. That was then and this is now. The issues that KGV had previously are firmly in the past. We have a new principal and a new senior team with a long standing reputation of working in outstanding Colleges, who along with our fabulous teachers, are working hard for our students. We have had a record number of applications and enrolments this year, which we are delighted to see. Enrolling is easy. Students can enrol online, or face to face. If they need additional support then we are happy to provide that."
