10 Downing Street Covid19 National Press Conference

PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has addressed the nation about new 4 week lockdown measures due to imposed for England... But unlike the restrictions back in March, Schools, Colleges and Universities will stay open. After 2 December 2020, the restrictions would be eased and Regions will go back to the new 3 Tiered system, he said.  Also on the Eve of the furlough scheme ending, with Rishi Sunak said he wouldn’t extend it, now we hear that the Government will extend furlough payments at 80% to December and for the duration of the new national lockdown measures. Under the new restrictions in England:-

People are to stay at home unless they have a specific reason to leave, such as work which cannot be done from home and education.

People are allowed to exercise outdoors alone, with their household or with 1 other person.

Meeting indoors or in private gardens will not be allowed.

Pubs, bars, restaurants and non-essential retail across the nation will close, but takeaways and click and collect shopping can remain open.

Leisure and entertainment venues, including gyms, will also close again.

Construction sites and manufacturing workplaces can remain open.

People are still allowed to form support bubbles.

Children can move between homes if their parents are separated.

People are not being asked to resume shielding, but the clinically vulnerable people are asked to be "especially careful."
