Mother of abandoned newborn girl found

THE mother of a newborn baby girl who was abandoned inside Silcock's Amusement Arcade's disabled toilet, on Thursday, 16 April 2015, has been found. Staff member Warren Chadwick, 36, was shocked to discover the baby and said:- "I rescued the new born baby from the toilet and raised the alarm. I was in shock, but I was so pleased see her tummy move and she was breathing." The baby was named, by staff at Ormskirk Hospital, as 'April' and said to be a very healthy 6lbs 9oz. It has been reported that baby girl's birth was unsupervised and there had been concerns about her mother's health. As a result, after the discovery, a heavy Police presence could be seen in and around Neville Street, Southport, as an investigation was stated to try and locate the mother. The following afternoon it was confirmed that the mother of the newborn was found within the Merseyside area and is currently receiving medical treatment. Superintendent Claire Richards, said:- "I would like to thank the local community, the online community and the media for their assistance in this matter."

Below is a picture of Warren Chadwick, who found the baby April (above) in the toilets.
