Merseyside Police start investigation after property was damaged by firearm in Maghull

MERSEYSIDE Police Detectives are appealing for information after a firearms was discharge within the Maghull area, on Friday 26 January 2018. We are told that at around 8.40pm, a report was received of damage to a house in Parkbourne, Maghull. Armed Police attended and confirmed damage to windows that is consistent with a shotgun having been fired. Nobody was injured and it is initially believed to have been a targeted incident. Officers will be in the area to carry out house to house, witness and forensic enquiries and to offer reassurance to the community. Southport Bistrot Pierre Has Re-open After Temporary Closure

SOUTHPORT'S Bistrot Pierre, on the corner of Lord Street and Nevill Street, was closed for 3 days and we had lots of questions sent into our news room asking why. Karen Rimmer general manager for Bistrot Pierre said:- "Bistrot Pierre Southport reopened from 12noon, on 23 January 2018, after an unexpected, temporarily closing for 3 days. We have been working with external contractors over to resolve an issue affecting water pipes on Neville Street. We take the safety of our staff and customers very seriously. We can confirm that we have resumed our normal service, offering our usual high standards."


Another shooting in Litherland

MERSEYSIDE Police detectives are investigating after an injury shooting in Litherland, at around 2:10pm, on Tuesday, 23 January 2018. We are told that at this time the Ambulance Service had reported a man in his 20's had been shot in the area of Fulwood Way. He has been taken to Hospital for assessment of his injuries, that was not thought to be life threatening. Armed Officers attended the scene and initial house to house and witness enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and exact location of this incident.

Chief Inspector Diane Pownall said:- "This is the very early stages of our investigation, so I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Fulwood Way, on the afternoon of Tuesday, 23 January 2018, to come forward with any information, which may be vital as we seek to establish exactly what happened. To fire a weapon in the middle of the day is reckless in the extreme and we will act on all information from our communities to identify those responsible and put them before the Courts. If you saw the incident itself, or anyone making off on foot or in a vehicle, and may have obtained any mobile phone or dash cam footage, please let us know directly or anonymously through Crimestoppers. Any information, no matter how small, could help our initial enquiries."

Mayor's Charity Dinner Tickets have gone on sale

THE 2018 Mayor of Sefton's Charity Dinner will be taking place at the stunning Floral Hall, Southport Theatre and Convention Centre, on Saturday, 17 March 2018. All money raised from the dinner will go to the Mayor of Sefton's Charity Fund. This is later annually dispersed throughout the borough to local charities.

The evening starts at 6.00pm, with a drinks reception followed by a 3 course meal, live auction and raffle Special guest compare Tony Ravel, who will be hosting the proceedings with live music from Blackpool based band:- 'The Blackaways.' Tickets, which cost ₤35, are on sale now subject to availability.

Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Dave Robinson, said:- "The annual charity dinner is 1 of the major highlights in the Sefton Mayoral calendar and I am very much looking forward to welcoming many guests on the evening. All the money raised throughout the evening goes towards the Mayor's Charity Fund, which in turn helps so many wonderful charitable and voluntary organisations right across the borough."
