Paloma Faith to headline Haydock Park Racecourse in August

PALOMA Faith is the latest artist announced for the 2018 summer season, at Haydock Park Racecourse, joining previously announced Plan B who will headline on Saturday, 21 July 2018. With her acclaimed Number 1 album:- 'The Architect' riding high in the charts and a BRIT nomination for Best British Female, Paloma Faith will be bringing hits old and new to the course for a stunning headline performance.

Paloma Faith returned to the charts in 2017 with 'The Architect' following the huge success of her 2014 album:- 'A Perfect Contradiction,' which spent 29 weeks in the Top 10 Albums Chart, 66 weeks in the Top 40, and 100 weeks in the Top 200. The new album is currently on course to become her fourth double platinum album in a row; which would make her the 1st British woman in chart history to achieve this incredible feat!

Equally at home both onstage and in the studio, this show will undoubtedly be 1 of the highlights of the summer season.

Paloma Faith said:- "I can't wait to perform at Haydock Park Racecourse this summer for the 1st time. I love summertime and I love outdoor shows so to be able to perform on a hopefully sunny evening at the course is something I'm very much looking forward to."

In previous years, the North West has seen some incredible headline performances, including from:- Tom Jones, Deacon Blue, Jess Glynne and Kaiser Chiefs at Aintree Racecourse, with Haydock Park Racecourse hosting Culture Club, Olly Murs and The Jacksons in 2016.

The events are renowned for combining a fun filled evening at the races with a spectacular evening concert in the informal and relaxed open air setting of the hallowed turf.

The Jockey Club racecourses have world class customer facilities, featuring an array of award winning restaurants that cater for all tastes, be it Fine Dining through to delicious bistro food. The Jockey Club venues welcome over 2million people a year for some of the UKs biggest racing events so you can be sure a fantastic evening.

Tickets will be on sale, at 8am, on Friday, 23 February 2018, via:- TheJockeyClubLive.Co.UK, with a presale available to customers, at 8am, on Wednesday, 21 February 2018. Hugh Baird College's L20 Hotel School scoops a trio of prestigious awards

Students and staff from Hugh Baird College’s L20 Hotel School.

THE L20 Hotel School, at Hugh Baird College and its L20 Restaurant are celebrating after receiving a host of prestigious awards including a coveted:- 'Highly Commended' from the AA College Rosettes scheme, a Gold Accreditation and Centre of Excellence Award from People 1st.

The AA College Rosette Scheme, developed by People 1st and AA Hotel Services, recognises College restaurants for the quality of the food they produce, the level of service they deliver and the level of industry links the organisation have that benefit students and raise standards.

The People 1st's Hospitality Accreditations and Centre of Excellence Award recognise Colleges that deliver excellence in hospitality training.

Hugh Baird College is the 1st College in the Liverpool City Region to achieve a Gold Accreditation and to be awarded the Centre of Excellence status.

In his report, AA Inspector Garry Baldwin commented on a:- "truly commercial thinking environment where learners form key roles." He also added that the L20 Restaurant was:- "very much at the top end of the College Rosette Award scheme and was clearly developing and improving current industry trends and standards."

L20 Hotel School Curriculum Coordinator for Hospitality and Catering, Stephen Otty, said:- "To be the 1st College within the Region to be awarded a Gold Accreditation and named as a Centre of Excellence really does recognise the hard work we put in to making Hugh Baird College and the L20 Hotel School the place to come if you want to progress with a career in the hospitality and catering industry. To also receive a Highly Commended status and be 1 of only a few College's nationally to have received this award is testament to the skills and commitment our students and staff demonstrate on a daily basis."

Hugh Baird College and L20 Hotel School student, Ricky Mears, said:- "I feel really proud to be a student here and to be part of the L20 Hotel School. To work as part of such a great team in such a high end working environment as the L20 Restaurant gives me that added experience that will help me stand out when I start my career."

The School was launched to address the hospitality skills gap of the ever growing Visitor Economy of the Liverpool City Region and we continue to do this in spectacular style year on year.
