PLAYERS from Southport FC have helped kick off a new era for 1 of the Town's largest employers. The team performed the official opening of a new centre of excellence for InsureTAXI, a company which insures more than 12,000 Cab and Taxi drivers across the country.

Based on the outskirts of Town, on Slaidburn Crescent, the centre has been created following the merger of InsureTAXI's old Southport Office, that was located on Princess Street with the Liverpool and Crewe operations.  The new building creates 1 large modern office space of more than 7,000 sq ft, in Southport, where there are 75 employees in:- sales, renewals, admin and customer service roles.

Head of marketing Claire Smith said:- "We have been established in Southport for more than 10 years and have a great relationship within the Town and with local people. Most of our employees live locally and people will recognise our name from our association with the football club, where County Insurance has been 1st team shirt sponsors for the past 2 seasons.  When it came to creating a centre of excellence for our Taxi operation, Southport was our 1st choice."

The County Group also has a 2nd office, on Hoghton Street, in Southport's Town Centre, specialises in commercial and business insurance solutions.

Claire added:- "The InsureTAXI's new centre of excellence gives us scope to expand. We hope to attract highly motivated and enthusiastic professionals into a variety of roles. We also offer apprenticeships and are looking to speak to local Colleges and Universities for people who want to earn whilst they learn. Getting the right type of people to work in our business is essential. We offer a full induction plan, continuous professional development, a fantastic working environment and competitive salaries."

Letters to Editor:- "High marks for Birkdale School."

"I'M a Parent Governor at St Teresa's Catholic Infant and Nursery School, Birkdale, I wanted to make your readers aware of the fantastic news, following an Ofsted Inspection of our School.   We have been rated as GOOD, which comes as a very welcome result after our late 2016 Oftsed inspection; where concerns were highlighted within the School. To have now achieved this result and have the phenomenal work ‘done' at our School recognised by Education Authority and The Archdiocese is a huge win; and news we feel should be shared with our community.  Mrs Daniels, Headteacher at St Teresa's, has worked tirelessly over the last 18 months and has a wonderful teaching team around her; also supported by our Governing Board, the Chair of which is Laura McCormick.  We are incredibly proud of our School and of our teaching staff, not forgetting our children!  You can also find out about via St Teresa's Catholic Infant and Nursery School's website."
