Cyclists needed for Hospice Nightrider Team

NEXT month, hundreds of cyclists will spend a Saturday night riding around Liverpool's famous landmarks to raise money for loads of great causes. St. Joseph's Hospice has several charity places up for grabs in this year's Liverpool Nightrider, which takes place on 14 July to 15 July 2018, and they are looking for supporters to join their team.

There are 3 choices for the ride, the 1st is a 50km loop which starts with a ride through the Mersey Tunnel (which will be closed to other traffic) over to the Wirral Peninsula. This will include highlights such as the:- Royal Liverpool Golf Club, West Kirby and Port Sunlight, plus there are spectacular views back over the City Centre.

The 2nd loop is also 50km and takes in some world famous landmarks:- Liverpool's historic waterfront, Albert Dock, Echo Arena, Cavern Club, Empire Theatre, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, Knotty Ash, Anfield Stadium (Liverpool FC) and Goodison Park (Everton FC). Finally, you could choose to ride both routes in 1 incredible 100km ride!

Nightrider is organised by leading charity challenge company, Classic Challenge, who have been organising challenge events for 25 years. The route will be fully sign-posted and there will be full support, back up and regular break stops throughout the night, along with a well earned breakfast and medal at the finish.

Laura Smith, community fundraiser at St. Joseph's Hospice, said:- "Liverpool Nightrider is a fun and social ride so there's no timing or racing involved. It's just about having a good time, soaking up the atmosphere and supporting each other. If you enjoy cycling and are looking for a different and enjoyable challenge then this is for you! Why not get together with your friends or colleagues and join the St Joseph's Hospice Liverpool Nightrider Team with 1 of our limited charity places? We'll also give you lots of advice and support to help you fundraise."

To secure your place in Liverpool Nightrider, visit:- Jospice.Org.UK and go to the events page to complete a short registration form. Registration is ₤39 plus a minimum sponsorship of ₤175 for the Hospice. For further information, call the fundraising team on:- 0151 932 6044 or email them...

The 'Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival' Adds Liverpool To UK Tour

3 of the most satisfying things known to man; wine, cheese and chocolate, are coming together in a 1 day, 'Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival'. It announces 3 extra dates to the recently announced tour, on 13 October 2018, at Liverpool Olympia, 24 November 2018, at The Examination Schools, in Oxford, and then on 23 February 2019, at The Centaur in Cheltenham. At its very essence, the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival will celebrate the very best in British artisan suppliers. Alongside wine quaffing, cheese gorging and chocolate worshipping, guests will be absorbed in tantalising talks and demos, indulge in tasty food stalls, and pick up enough goodies to pack pantries back home. Tickets for this event; which also runs a family-friendly daytime session - start at ₤12.50 and can be purchased online.

The Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival promises to be a day of food and drink heaven. Whether an enthusiastic novice or a seasoned connoisseur, wine experts Vin D'am will introduce guests to the good stuff, helping decipher Barolo's from Brunello's.

At each tour stop, event organisers will bring together the best local suppliers of this holy trinity of goods. Guests can enjoy regional wine specialists as they pair the perfect tipple with the most fitting foods. And if cheese on its own isn't delightful enough, there'll also be chocolate flavoured cheese to really bring these scrummy British favourites, together.

The festival will also incorporate multi media technology. Guests can grab a pair of headphones and watch cinema style documentaries, screened by video projection, on the festival's 3 specialist subjects: wine, cheese and chocolate. They'll also be further entertainment with live music and performances throughout the day.

On arrival, branded cotton bags will be handed out to collect the inevitable buys of the day, plus a branded Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival sampling glass. The little ones will be given a kiddie version; their own branded cup for juice or water.

During the daytime session of the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival, the event will cater for children in a Willy Wonka themed kids zone. Let them roll around in the soft play zone and have their faces painted whilst off discovering a new favourite for the cheese board.

For those seeking a tipple not served in a wine glass, a spirit bar will also feature, stocking a variety of popular shorts. And ever merging the realms of chocolate and alcohol, expect chocolate infused products including chocolate gin!

Tickets start at ₤12.50 for adults and ₤7.50 for children, both plus booking fees. Under 6's go for free. Each location will run 3 sessions per day allowing guests to choose the time of day that best suits, with the earliest session being the family friendly option. For more details and to buy tickets visit Eventbrite website.

Further dates are to be announced in various locations across the UK. Follow the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival, on Facebook, for all the latest news and announcements.
