Birkdale Primary School helps Lord Street volunteers

A local group of volunteer gardeners were joined by Birkdale Primary School Council pupils, from Year's 3, 4 and 5, to help the Town's effort to win the converted:- 'Britain in Bloom' title again. Under the extremely hot for summer sun, the children did an amazing job at planting, as well as helping to lay compost on the Memorial Gardens, on Lord Street. The Lord Street volunteers, who give up their spare time to keep Lord Street in Southport looking stunning and clean, throughout the year said:- "The kids have been fantastic. They have done a brilliant job helping us clean up and getting the area ready for the competition and the start of the Summer Season. We would like to say a very big thank you to you all!"

It's worth noting that Pauline Morris and her group of volunteers have not only been doing work on the gardens outside Sainsbury's in the Town Centre, but in other locations as well around the Town as well.

THE former Miss Liverpool City Region, Elli Wilson who is a swimming instructor on the Wirral and ahead of the Miss England Semi Finals, as Miss Billion Dollar Smile was on New Brighton Beach this week.
