Ainsdale Horticultural Society will host its annual Ainsdale Summer
Show on Saturday, 14 July 2018. The Summer Show has always been
the Society's main yearly event and is now 1 of the main highlights
			of the area's event calendar.
This year’s is looking like it will be the hottest show yet and also
one of the best attended. It might look small, but it is bigger than
you think. There are so many activities to do and things to see.
Live music, a dog show, gymnastic displays and so much more. The
show will also include a Parade though Airedale Village and the
crowning of the 2018 Floral Queen, Attendants and Rosebud.

You will easily spend a good day being entertained, plus the Village
has many fantastic shops, bars and restaurants to visit. It’s also
in easy walking distance of the railway station and next to the x2
and other main bus routes in and out of Southport, to Liverpool and
Formby. Plus, the Trade Stand or Craft Marquee is well worth a
visit, along with the other side shows and stalls.

The event starts at 10am on the War Memorial Gardens at the Village
Green, and runs until 5pm.  Full information about the Ainsdale
Horticultural Society can be found online at:-

			AinsdaleHorticulturalSociety.Org.UK.

On 15 July Car Boot and Table sale will be held on the Village
Green. Booking available from Tricia Pearce on:- 01704 576345.

DID you know??? The very 1st Ainsdale Show was held on
Saturday, 20 July 1912. During the 2nd World War the show was
suspended because all the Society's worldly goods were destroyed by
a bomb, which fell on a shed at the cricket ground, where the
equipment was stored. The show was resurrected only thanks to the
Rev Anthony Dixon and St John's Church, where it was successfully
held on a Saturday afternoon in August 1945.
