Formby Pool Trust's 'Festival in the Park'
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

ON the 4 August and 5 August 2018, the Formby Pool Trust held it's 1st 'Festival in the Park' fund raising event on the grounds next to the leisure building, within the heart of Formby village. The facility, if you have never been, this amazing building is operated by the Formby Pool Trust, but is leased to the pool trust under an agreement between the Formby Land Trust and Sefton MBC, who own the building.

Both days had lots to see and do, with a few stalls, run by Kate Plus Southport, Bill Sands (raising awareness for guillain barré syndrome with 'Gain' Charity), Alison Holmes (raising money towards her Great Wall of China walk in aid of the Alzheimer's Society) and a toy stall. Also the event had the Pool's very own 'tiki-bar' and burger bar and also a small fun fair, along with a model steam train that was giving young and old rides.

The 1st day had music from Jamie Somers, Dan O'Toole, Astrid The Voice Kids 2018, Mia Carragher, JC and The 2Steps, and Niamh Jones Music, along with comper Jaqui from Sandgrounder Radio.

The 2nd day, Sunday, was the day we popped over to take a look. This section of the event included a car show, run with thanks to Ormskirk Motor Club and the Royal Air Forces Association.

For us, this was a brilliant community event, that we fully enjoyed attending. We would like to know what you thought of this event, so please do email us at:- News24@SouthportReporter.com also do not forget to check out what other things the Formby Pool Trust are offering this year.
