Wilderness Wharf - a family resort on the doorstep of Gulliver's World

PLANS for a brand new leisure development have been submitted for Gulliver's World in Warrington. The family business, which has been running for over 40 years has seen great success, and rapid expansion recently starting work to construct their fourth Theme Park Resort, which is located in Rotherham. Exciting news has now been announced of a proposed expansion for their Warrington site. Planning applications have been submitted to create a unique resort, adjacent to the existing theme park and hotel. The ₤3.8m development, if approved, will create 2 brand new themed hotels. The hotels will be fairy-tale princess and pirate ship themed, sure to be a huge hit with families looking for a break with a difference. Julie Dalton, Managing Director of Gulliver's said:- "The plans we have put forward are really exciting and will be of great benefit to the local Warrington community. Our current themed accommodation is really popular across all 3 of our sites, and the Gulliver's Hotel is also busy with business stays and events, given the excellent motorway links to both Liverpool and Manchester. In recent years we have seen a notable rise in families coming for short breaks rather than day trips, we want to meet this demand and create something magical."

The expansion is sure to offer a boost to the local economy. Not only will the new resort attract families from across the UK and beyond, who otherwise wouldn't visit Warrington, there will be new jobs on offer and new facilities available. Julie continued:- "We always aim to give back and support the neighbouring community where possible, we have made sure a huge amount of the investment will go back into the local area. Not only will there be a minimum of 40 jobs created, the hotel rooms will be constructed at a firm just a short distance away in Lymm, Warrington. It is incredibly important to use local businesses where possible and this is something we always strive to do at Gulliver's. After construction our in house team will install and theme the hotel into the new resort. Wilderness Wharf will encourage families to get fresh air and spend quality time together, as always, we aim to have options to suit all budgets and requirements."

Included in the development proposal is a change of land use to accommodate a resort including lodges and facilities such as a reception, café and activity centre. The outcome of the planning applications is expected in April. Subject to approval, construction is set to commence in the spring/summer of 2019 and progress in 2 phases, taking between 2 and 3 years to complete. Almost ½ of couples in Southport want to file for a 'sleep divorce'

SOMETIMES 2 things really are better than 1; 2 heads to solve a problem, 2 coffees in the morning for maximum waking up efficiency, and always 2 helpings of dessert. And goodness only knows that some lucky households across the UK are blessed with a spare bedroom. For those who aren't, Soap Supplier, the UK's leading supplier of soap making supplies and soap making ingredients, decided to ask 2,500 couples the crucial questions:- do you want a bathroom break up, and would you prefer to sleep in a separate bed from your partner? 46% of couples in the North West said that they would like to:- 'file for a sleep divorce' and sleep in a separate bed from their significant other. The survey also found that 37% of couples in the North West would prefer to have a:- 'bathroom break up' that is; to use separate bathrooms. And just think of the advantages; no more having to tolerate wet, dirty towels on the floor, no hairs blocking the plughole… When asked to rate each other's bathroom etiquette, women rated their partner's at 6/10, whereas men rated their partner's bathroom behaviour at:- 7/10. So, when you live with your partner, what are the worst bathroom no-no's? Nearly ½ of Brits say that the worst bathroom behaviour rule to break is dripping on the toilet seat and not cleaning it up (45%), followed by not flushing (30%), not replacing the toilet paper (15%) and leaving the toilet seat up (10%). For those not fortunate enough to have 2 bathrooms, the survey also revealed that ½ of couples in the UK feel comfortable enough to use the bathroom when their partner is on the toilet (men are more comfortable with this than women). "Having one's own bathroom is clearly highly prized. But if you are sharing, it's key to maintain some bathroom etiquette for a harmonious home!" says Nicky Story from Soap Supplier.
