1st YT Golf Day at Formby Hall Hotel raises over ₤15,000 for charity

RICK Shiels, the world's most watched online golf personality, hails the 1st YT Golf Day held at Formby Hall Hotel on Monday a resounding success. Rick and the Hotel team welcomed 44 of golf's most popular content creators to take part in the charity competition, held in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The 1st of its kind event, which looks set to raise over ₤15,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, brought together golf content creators such as:- Peter Finch, Me and My Golf, Erik Anders Lang and What's Inside, who have 6.5 million subscribers, alongside celebrity and golfing stars such as Carly Booth, Gary Beadle and Brian McFadden. In total there were over 19 million followers across all of the creator's channels. Alongside the social media super stars, 34 lucky amateur golfers also took part in the competition, making up the 18 teams of 4 players; with 400 spectators watching from the side lines. With golf in full flow, players had the opportunity to take part in a number of on course challenges, including:- the Titleist TS Driver Speed Challenge, Callaway's Phil Mickelson Flop Shot Challenge, TaylorMade's 'Beat the Pro' Challenge, Foresight Straight Drive, GolfBreaks' Nearest the Pin and Performance54's Charity Challenge.

Andrew Pyle, Formby Hall Hotel General Manager, says:- "Hosting a 1st of-a kind YT Golf Day event with Rick, here at Formby Hall was a landmark moment for us and what a day it was! Being in the heart of England's Golf Coast, we're honoured to host the cream of golf's social media crop and thank everyone who's helped us to support Prostate Cancer UK."

Speaking on the day, Rick said:- "To be able to bring this event to life has been fantastic. Seeing everyone gather at Formby Hall Hotel was quite surreal; the support that I've had from everyone has been fantastic, and to get so many brands on board supporting such a great cause is brilliant. The generosity they have shown is overwhelming."

Mike Dawson (@mikes3dlife), with a score of 37 points, claimed a 2 stroke victory to secure the title of YT Golfer of the Year and won himself a 5 star holiday to La Manga courtesy of Golfbreaks.  Foresight Straightest Drive was won by Carly Booth (@carlyabooth), Hannah Davies (@hannahdaviesgolf) smashed the Titleist TS Driver Speed Challenge, Liam Harrison (@golf_vlogs_uk) claimed Golfbreaks Nearest to the Pin, and Simon Smith (@sas_golf_) claimed victory in the Titleist Pro V1 Nearest the Pin. Finally, with a winning score of 80 points, claiming the team prize of a Titleist Tour Staff Bag and TaylorMade P790 Driving Iron were John Ogden (@bigoggiegolf), Rob Potter (@crashtest_dobby), Tobias Lehmann (tobisgolfblog) and Matt Brookbanks (@Performance_54).


Liverpool events team is UK's No.1

LIVERPOOL City Council's Culture Team has been named the UK's TOP event organiser; and 15th in the world overall. The Eventex Awards; the most esteemed accolade in the events industry; have released its annual All Stars Index featuring the top event organisers and agencies from around the world.  Culture Liverpool, the team responsible for delivering crowd pulling spectaculars such as the:- Giants trilogy, the 3 Queens, Liverpool International Music Festival, River of Light, River Festival Liverpool, Bordeaux Wine Festival Liverpool and the Chinese New Year celebrations; has come out on top, being named the UK's best performing team and in Europe's Top 10. It is the only Local Authority organisations to feature within the Top 30. Ovanes Ovanessian, Co-founder of Eventex Awards, said:- "Recognising excellence in the event industry is our mission. Our Тop 30 Event Organizers and Agencies ranking is a big 'Bravo!' to the hard work of those companies and organisations that keep excelling and setting the trends."

The overall ranking includes 30 companies and organisations that excelled the most in the past 3 years. It takes into account the number of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places over the last 3 editions of Eventex Awards.  Director of Culture for Liverpool, Claire McColgan, said:- "This is a huge honour; we're made up! This is the industry's gold standard and for a City council to take the number one spot is phenomenal.  It's a fantastic endorsement of everything we've achieved and the creative risk taking we've been allowed to take.
