MERSEYSIDE Police are appealing for witnesses 
following a road traffic collision that happened in Southport, on Friday 15 
November 2019. We are informed that emergency services were called to Marshside 
Road, Southport, at around 2.25pm, following reports of a collision between a 
Peugeot and a bicycle. The male cyclist has been taken to hospital for 
assessment of a head injury. The driver of the car stopped to assist. Anyone who

the sentencing of James Prytherch
A NSPCC 
Spokesperson has issued the following statement related to 33 year old, James 
Prytherch, from St Helens, who has been jailed for 6 years and has to sign the 
Sexual Offences Register for life, after admitting 16 sexual offences, between 
24 July 2019 and 5 September 2019 with a 14 year old girl, after grooming her on 
Snapchat. Judge Byrne said:- "You gave no thought to 
the emotional consequences on this young woman and her family. Prytherch is a 
cruel sexual predator who groomed a vulnerable child before repeatedly sexually

Number of people with obesity almost 
doubles in 20 years
THE number of people who are obese in 
England has almost doubled in the last 20 years from 6.9 to 13 million, 
according to new analysis released by Diabetes UK. The figures from the Health 
Survey for England (1997 to 2017) estimate that there are now 13 million people 
over the age of 16 with a BMI of 30 or above which classifies as obese, an 
increase of more than 6 million since 1997.  In England 29% of adults and 
20% of 10 to 11 year olds are living with obesity and, although it's not the 
only factor, obesity is the most significant risk factor for new cases of type 2

ANALYSIS from the road safety charity 
Brake has revealed that nearly 53 people are killed or seriously injured on 
roads in the North West every week. The findings have been published to mark 
today's launch of national Road Safety Week, supported by Kwik Fit and 
Specsavers, which is shining a light on campaigners who are:- "Stepping Up for 
Safe Streets" and improving the safety of roads. A UK wide survey of
