Southport Christmas Light Parade 2019 - Part 2
Photos by Patrick Trollope.

THE Southport Charity Christmas Parade was held on 1 December 2019 and this is Part 2 of our coverage of this event. The event is the biggest vehicle light parade in the North West, that helps collect and donates toys to local children's organisations. The 5th year of the successful event saw people from all over the North West taking part, with the main man himself, Santa, taking pride of place. Normally the event only donates to just 1 local children’s home, but this year they are giving to 4 more! Just as well as this year it managed to collect 100’s and 100’s of toys ready to be boxed up and sent to 5 local charities in time for Christmas.

This annual event is run by Lifetime Experience Events and does not receive any financial help from Southport BID or Sefton Council, but they defiantly bring out the crowds and also spread some Christmas Joy around the area. This year the group set off from Pleasureland, though both Ainsdale and Birkdale, ending at the North End of Southport's Promenade. Well done to all who took part. We are told that they are very keen for Electric Car and Van users to take part in 2020, because as yet, no one has done so. For more information about the event, please visit the group’s Facebook Page.

We must add a massive well done to The Aintree Circuit Club, whose Marshals kept the parade moving and kept every one safe. It is worth adding that they also run a fantastic event each year called the Ormskirk MotorFest. If you took part in the High Parade, or even saw it go by, then please do let us know what you thought of the event, via emailing us to:- News24@SouthportReporter.Com.  If you missed Part 1 of our photographic report, please click on here now.
