The Queenscourt's 10th Annual Santa Sprint - Part 1

THIS year the local charity, Queenscourt, has celebrated it's 10th Anniversary of the Southport Santa Sprint, a fundraising event that sees participants running around the Marine Lake in Santa suits. This year, despite the horrendous wind and the very cold, damp start, over 350 runners took part! Up by over 100 on last year! The money from the event goes to the Charity, to help them to provide vital care and support to patients from Southport, Formby and West Lancashire completely free of charge. Yet again, this year's event was kindly being sponsored by Silcock Leisure Group, who not only provided a warm building to work from, along with complimentary food and drink to all taking part, including mince pies, but they also donated £1500 to the charity! This was a fantastic family fun event and 1 of many that the hospice holds, including the normally warmer Star Trek, begun 13 years ago, raising funds for them in May, every year. To find out more about the Hospice and also if you want to take part in next year’s events, or equally welcome to donate, please go to:- Queenscourt.Org.UK. We will have more photos of the festive fun, we snapped at this event, on the 8 December 2019, within next week’s issue. But for now, please enjoy our photos in this edition. Also, if you order a pic from us, from this event, we will donate £1 to Queenscourt... If you took part, please do let us know what you thought of the event, via emailing us to:- News24@SouthportReporter.Com.
