Year of the Rabbit sees the return of community celebration

PREDICTED to be a year of hope, the Year of the Rabbit saw the local community come together for its 1st event since Covid19, at the Pagoda Arts Centre, which celebrated its 40th year in 2022. Hosted by Pine Court Housing Association for the local community, the event included:- a raffle, a traditional Chinese fan dance from:- Pagoda Arts dancers, food from Big Bowl, with lion dances and kung fu performances by Hung Gar Kung Fu Association.

Through its Community Development Fund, Pine Court Housing Association supports hundreds of local beneficiaries each year by partnering with organisations to create safer, more inclusive, healthier communities.

Established in 1986 as a registered social landlord with a mission to provide quality homes and inclusive housing services for those in need, Pine Court Housing Association continues its mission to create opportunities and change the lives, promoting cultural tolerance and cohesion across the Liverpool City Region as part of The Sovini Group.

David Brown, Director at Pine Court Housing Association said:- "We are proud to be building a better future for our diverse, inclusive communities across the Liverpool City Region. It was an absolute pleasure to see our customers, colleagues and friends in the community come together to welcome in the Year of the Rabbit. As the cost of living rises, we know many will be finding this time of year challenging. We hope this event along with our commitment to reinvest into our communities will continue to make a positive impact."

Help raise money for Sefton's Sea Cadets

SAE Cadets Sefton have launched their Buy a Brick Campaign to raise money for their new Headquarters Building. The money raised will go to Sea Cadets Sefton, which offers opportunities to young people on and off the water, helping to boost their confidence and self belief. Young people aged between:- 10 and 18 are supported by 9,000 volunteers, at 400 units across the UK, where they can enjoy activities ranging from sailing and band practice to rock-climbing and catering, while earning nationally-recognised qualifications.

Campaign Overview:-

Can you Help SAE Cadets Sefton Build for the Future?

SAE Cadets Sefton are inviting everyone within our community and beyond to Buy-a-(virtual) Brick and make our new Unit building dreams a reality.

When buying your Brick, be sure to mention the wording you would like, as this will be displayed on the new wall (you can change this at any time).

Your donation, however small, will make a real difference.

As a valued provider of youth training provision in South Sefton, they are outgrowing the space in which to host our Cadets. The SAE Cadets Sefton need to provide a safe, warm, secure training space for our young people.

SAE Cadets Sefton strive to create invaluable opportunities for young people in our community. Whether they decide to make the Sea their career or not, SAE Cadets Sefton are here for them. However, SAE Cadets Sefton are housed within a rapidly ageing and maintenance-heavy buildings are starting to impact on the quality of that provision.

The Solution for SAE Cadets Sefton is to replace their current group of small buildings to meet the needs of the charity going forward. Without this, they will struggle to achieve our goals of ensuring no young person in our community is left behind, in terms of quality, safe education and training opportunities.

SAE Cadets Sefton not just another youth charity, we are a vital and valued asset in your community.

As an education and training resource near a Free Port, in a Port City, SAE Cadets Sefton pride themslves in mentoring, supporting and creating leaders of the future, Seafarers for industry and young people who can be justifiably proud of the maritime heritage of their local and wider community. The Sefton Unit and wider organisation makes a real impact on the lives of young people.

By re-invigorating our arras's youth, SAE Cadets Sefton are helping to build a sure footing for all the young people within the community who are yet to take up our experiences and improve their life prospects.

YOU can help SAE Cadets Sefton implement real improvements in the environment in which our young people are trained.

YOU have the power and momentum as a community to make a tangible difference to the lives and futures of thousands of young people going forward.

NOW is the time to support us and help SAE Cadets Sefton to achieve it's vision of a warm, safe, sustainable space for our young people. Combating anti-social behaviour, loneliness and loss of engagement, driving improvement in youth mental health and citizenship.
