Churches Together, Formby, Altcar and Hightown - Walk Of Witness and Passion Play 2024

ON Good Friday 2024 (19 March) the annual Walk of Witness and Passion Play was held in the Formby Pool Gardens. This Easter event was run by volunteers from the Christian group, Churches Together, Formby, Altcar and Hightown.

This year's event was far more political than normal, due to what is happening in Israel currently, but the updated version of the Easter Story, seemed to go down well with those who came to watch it.

This time the story was told as if it was news coverage on TV, with the aim of making the story of the crucifixion more interesting to younger generations watching it. It still covered most of the traditional biblical version of events, just in a more updated way, as if it was through the eyes of a TV news journalist, who was explaining to viewers what they were seeing.

A spokesperson for Churches Together in Formby, Altcar and Hightown, Mark Edwards said:- "Thankfully the rain held off and it was yet another wonderful turnout for the Walk of Witness and Passion Play.
