'Magic On The Mersey,' has scooped a top Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award

POPULAR Liverpool magic show:- 'Magic On The Mersey,' has scooped a top Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award on its 3rd birthday! Internationally renowned magician Steve Price has received countless 5 star reviews for his highly entertaining performances that blow people's minds!

The ingenious trickster, a favourite of celebrities, puts on events at Aloft Hotel in Liverpool in between international tours and they've become 1 of the highest rated city experiences on Trip Advisor. The former Secretary of The Magic Circle and long standing member of The Inner Circle builds comedy into his wide range of tricks; offering something alternative and fun to do in Liverpool.

The incredible shows feature a diverse range of tricks, including:- water, cards, eggs, watches, balls, ropes, newspapers and more, whilst getting the audience involved in many of the sketches. The Liverpool shows offer great value for money; with front row seats for just £25 and general seats for just £20.

Having performed to large audiences internationally, Steve Price is widely regarded as 1 of the best magicians in the world. His Magic On The Mersey shows are much more intimate in a majestic venue and such is its popularity, he has now expanded into Manchester with regular Magic At The Midland shows.

Fresh off the back of a Floral Pavilion show with Shirley Ballas, Steve said:- "I've been a magician since I was a child and have performed extensively all over the world for over 20 years, but the Magic On The Mersey Liverpool shows are always particularly special. Scousers are always a top crowd and the feedback has been amazing since I started performing here 3 years ago."

Steve's magic shows truly need to be seen to be believed; the mesmerising showcases leave the audience bamboozled and laughing hysterically with amazement. An ideal thing to do for date night, with family or with friends, it's a night out like no other and something you won't forget in a long time!

One audience member recently said:- "Can't even find the words to describe how awesome this show is. Steve Price literally left me speechless. Still trying to understand what I saw. I had some great responsibility and Steve tried to include as many of the audience as possible which makes it more fascinating. Even if you have been before it's worth a return because you will still laugh and leave stunned. Can't wait to go again."

Another said:- "Front row seats to watch a brilliant magic show. You couldn't get any closer to watch close-up magic and we still couldn't work out how they were done. Steve was so entertaining as well as very talented and we all got the chance to join in with the tricks. Thanks for a special evening."

£6m project to tackle fuel poverty in Merseyside

FUNDING for a project to help some of the most vulnerable households in Merseysidehas been announced, as 30% of adults in the Region say they are in financial difficulties.

Cadent Foundation is allocating £6 million to Groundworks' 'Green Doctors,' with the aim to offer more than 14,500 in-home consultations and support.

Energy efficiency advisors ('Green Doctors') will offer practical guidance on energy saving, behaviour change tips and referrals to local support services.

The funding; the biggest award Cadent Foundation has ever made; enables the:- 'Stay Warm, Stay Well' programme to run for 3 years.

The Groundwork projects covering Merseyside will be funded as part of a scheme that covers other Regions of the North West, as well as in the:- West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England and North London areas.

It comes at a time when immediate support for households during the cost of living and continued energy crisis remains vital.

Insight from a recent Groundwork survey, found that 94% of Green Doctors reported supporting households that did not use their central heating at all, with 85% saying they had worked with people cutting back on food or only eating cold meals.

On 10 April 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority published a report which revealed 30% of adults in the North West are not coping financially, or finding it difficult to cope. This is 28% higher than the UK average.

One Green Doctor commented:- "We're seeing people choosing between which bills to pay and whether to eat meals, and many don't even consider putting on the heating. It's heartbreaking and infuriating. The energy crisis is far from over; there are so many people and families in urgent need of help."

Graham Duxbury, Groundwork's UK Chief Executive, said:- "This new funding from the Cadent Foundation couldn't be coming at a more important time. Feedback from our Green Doctors is that they're visiting an increasing number of people who are taking drastic measures to make ends meet; from skipping meals to living in permanently cold, damp homes; with many falling into debt. We're also seeing more working people who are ineligible for Government support but who still need advice on how to reduce their bills. We're delighted that the Cadent Foundation is able to provide strategic, multi year support for our Green Doctors, which will help us expand our service to more people and ensure we have a workforce able to meet growing demand."

Julia Dwyer, Director of the Cadent Foundation, said:- "The impact from our initial partnership which began in 2020, has been incredible to witness, particularly as the work of energy advisors has been vital throughout the cost of living crisis. We've learnt a lot throughout the 1st phase, which supported more than 10,000 households, but being able to fund the training of local people, to advise and guide their own communities on energy efficiency and money management, is really powerful. We truly believe that a solid knowledge of how to optimise the energy efficiency of a home, is the key to alleviating fuel poverty in the long-term and the next stage in our partnership will allow us to expand the programme even further, increasing our involvement and doubling the amount of funding to help even more families."

In addition to the new programme, Groundwork has developed a new section of its website, Get Energy Help, to offer clear, simple advice on different ways to save energy, stay warm and reduce bills, including resources on minimising heat loss or understanding meters.

Those needing advice can access the referral form on Groundwork's website.
