ON 2 July to 9 July 2025, the immersive theatre returns to 1 of Liverpool's most famous hotels, The Adelphi, with an audience experience that promises to be both:- 'Intimate and interactive.' The creative team behind The Bedroom which sold out its run at:- The Adelphi, back in 2024, are heading back to the:- Edwardian City Centre building, for 2025, with a follow up show, This latest preformance at the Adelphi, in Liverpool, will be held within:- 'The Living Room,' which is a:- 'private, hidden room' within the historic City Center hotel,

The Living Room, is another unique site specific piece of Theatre brought to the City by Izzie Major and company (Frankie Gold, Piotr Marchewka, Craig Sinclair), featuring performances by emerging artists recruited, from:- Liverpool Hope University.

Izzie is a performance artist from the North West, whose work explores the:- absurd, the ritualistic, the macabre, the feminine, and the grotesque. She is passionate about bringing extraordinary artistic experiences to non-theatre spaces and community settings, and she has worked with a range of arts organisations including:- Hope Street Limited, Tate Liverpool, Unity Theatre, Liverpool Biennial, Bluecoat, and most recently Sisters Hope in Denmark.

She is also keen to champion the incredible work and creative practices of female Surrealists, who she feels have been widely unrecognised in the Surrealist canon.

Anti homelessness strategy is a success, says Liverpool's Mayor

THE pilot schemes, carried out within:- Liverpool and Manchester, of an anti homelessness strategy are a proven success, according to the Mayor of the Liverpool City Region.

Housing First, an unconventional approach to ending homelessness, has been hailed by Steve Rotheram as:- "demonstrably successful." Speaking at a recent Centre for Social Justice roundtable, he praised Housing First as a:- "completely different approach to homelessness; helping people get a roof above their heads along with wraparound support."

According to a systematic review, compared to conventional approaches, Housing First programmes decreased homelessness by 88 per cent and improved housing stability by 41%.

At the same time, the final evaluation of the pilot schemes in England found that for every pound invested in:- Housing First, taxpayers gain twice that in savings to public services and improved personal wellbeing.

Noting the findings of the evaluation, Rotheram went on to say that, working with local and national partners, he would:- "roll it out even further."

Also speaking at the roundtable, Steve Morgan CBE, Chairman of the Steve Morgan Foundation, added:- "Our Foundation is excited to work with the Centre for Social Justice to support this roundtable today and encourage the Government to roll out Housing First wider. It was a pleasure to sit next to Steve Rotheram and hear from partners how successful the Liverpool and Manchester Housing First Pilot Schemes have been. As someone new to Housing First, I can see the benefit not just of continuing these regional pilots, but rolling it out through the country. Having made a living out of housing, it's a no-brainer to get people into quality housing. It has to be the way forward and I hope that's what we can achieve going forward."

Josh Nicholson, Senior Researcher at the CSJ, has also commented:- "We've convened representatives so we can understand what's next for Housing First in England. How do we take the success that's been experienced in Liverpool and Manchester to the rest of England? We know that Housing First is one of the most effective responses to homelessness and rough sleeping, so we've been asking: why has it been a success, what are the barriers that have been overcome and how do we roll this out within the Government's upcoming Homelessness Strategy. Over the next few months the CSJ is going to produce a report calling on the Government to roll out Housing First nationwide, with the lessons learnt today at its heart."
