Crochet Spitfire group thanked by Merseyside Polish Community

THE Crochet Spitfire, dubbed:- 'Stitchfire,' that was recently installed on Lord Street, in Southport has become a major temporary attraction, and has now been featured on the regional TV news, along with being shown in international media outlets. The art installation pays thanks to the British and International RAF Pilots who protected the Region, flying out of RAF Woodvale over World War 2.  The focus of the artwork was to highlight the Polish 308 'Krakowski' Squadron, and the Polish Aircrew who lost their lives defending our nation, especially though the Battle of Britain. This event organised by Merseyside Polonia was held within Christ Church, to thank the group who had been lovingly worked on the artwork. You can see the installation process within our report we ran on here, in the previous edition. That report has lots of photos and video footage. The Spitfire will be available for all to see on the:- Town Hall Gardens, Lord Street, Southport, until the:- 7 November 2025.
