Formby Village Nativity Play 2025

THE Churches Together Formby, Altcar and Hightown delivered yet another Christmas Nativity Play, on 13 December 2024, within the grounds of Formby Pool. This year entitled:- "Christmas Joy" and was free to watch. The cast included:- Helen Barton, who played Mother, The Children played by Sophie and Millie Brown, and Ben Last. Mary was played by Denise Clarke, the Angel by Keith Ballard, Soldiers by Stuart Jones and Lambert Felix. Joseph was played by Kenneth Bulger, the Wise People by Dyan Ensenat, Tim Hogben and Angela Grue. Palace Guard by Alistair Thomson, Herod by Ken Ward and the Shepherds by Mark Hogben, Caroline Jones and Martin Edwards. This year play was an adaptation of the Christmas Story, and even had a 3 week old baby! It started with a family talking about what happened at Christmas back in Bethlehem and progressed to tell the story of the birth of Jesus. Written and Directed by Dympna and Mark Edwards. Choral arrangements by Catherine Last. This is not the only Christmas event that has been run in Formby by the local Churches, as they are holding a Christmas Window Trail with 40 hops and businesses within the Village, telling the story of Christmas.
