UK Hot Cars and North West EV Owners Group

ON 8 March 2020, the both UK Hot Cars and North West EV Owners Group joined forces to put on a fantastic organised car display below Southport Pier, at the back of the Southport Theatre, on the banks of the Marine Lake. Despite 1 "Muppet" at the very start, according to the organisers, the day went without incident. We attended most of the event and did not see any problems. All the cars were driven with marshal supervision and all the drivers and those attending were very friendly. We personally thought was very interesting to see the electric community, spark heads mixing with the petrol heads. Both seemed to really enjoy exchanging ideas and taking a look at each others cars. Also, the tourists and locals who came down to see it, seemed to be extremely pleased with the display. Plus, we even met people who came up, just for this event from Birmingham, even York, also others from more local areas like the Wirral and Ormskirk, all singing its praise.

1 young lady o commented to us:- "I did not know what this was. I spotted lots of people and cars. I popped down to take a look and I love it. Sadly, I cannot drive as I am epileptic, but I love cars. The fact it has electric and petrol makes this very interesting. The owners are so nice and as no cars are moving; my kids are free to walk around the cars. I did not know events like this take place, as I only see the badly run events, with cars doing spins and burnouts illegally. This is well run and safe, just like you see at big car shows, but with local clubs! I will be bringing the rest of the family next month, from Preston to see this!" If you attended, we would love to know what you thought of the show. Please send us an email to:- News24@SouthportReporter.com  with your thoughts about this event.
