Bill Esterson MP pays respects to the fallen at St Andrew's Maghull

BILL Esterson MP paid his respects to the fallen at a Remembrance Service, at St Andrew's Church, Maghull. Sefton Central MP Mr Esterson joined children from St Andrew's Primary School at the Armistace Day Service, on Thursday, 11 November 2021. School pupils took part in prayers and readings at the service led by Rev Simon Elliot. Mr Esterson said:- "Thanks to Rev Simon and St Andrew Church Maghull for inviting me to your Armistice Day service. Well done all the St Andrews Church of England Primary School children who took part in the readings and prayers and thank you to all School staff who are so fabulous all year round."
 


Health Alert at BT's Aintree Technical Engineering Centre

BT has recently become aware of the presence of material containing asbestos found in a suspect condition at its Aintree Technical Engineering Centre, near Bootle, in Merseyside. The site was closed on 29 October 2021, as a precautionary measure, pending further investigation, assessment and appropriate remediation. British Telecommunications Plc have told us that:- "BT has notified the Health and Safety Executive and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers. We are in the process of contacting colleagues who are deemed to have connections with the site. We will update this with the latest information and support as soon as we can."
 


People invited to remember loved ones at special Christmas Bereavement Service in Southport

DAVID Massam and his team from Massam and Marshall Independent Funeral Directors, in Southport are hosting an evening of music, reflection and prayer to offer those who have suffered loss the chance to come together and remember this festive season.

David, Funeral Director, at the branch on Manchester Road, Southport, said:- "We are proud to be able to put on an event which will allow members of all communities within Southport to come together in this multi faith service to remember loved ones whom we have lost. All proceeds will be split evenly between Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley and Leyland Road Methodist Church in Southport, who have very kindly offered us their church to lead this service."

Rev Sonya Marshall from Leyland Road Methodist Church will assist in leading the service and will be joined by Rev Martin Abrams from Southport Hospital along with local celebrants. David Massam and members of his staff team will also be providing reflective music. There will be an opportunity to place a named card with your loved one's name on the Remembrance Tree, as part of the service. Hot drinks and mince pies will be served following the service, which starts at:- 7pm, on:- Sunday, 5 December, 2021.

David Massam said:- "There is no need for you to have used our services before. This is a community initiative aimed at uniting people in an act of remembrance for their loved ones and allowing us to reflect for the Christmas period, whilst raising some money for two very worthwhile charities. There is no need to book a place for the event, all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you. If you cannot make the event, it will be live streamed on Leyland Road Methodist Church's Youtube Channel."
