‘Stars’ Come Out to Promote Learning
Actors Highlight Post-16 Options for Greater Merseyside Pupils

SOAP stars from Coronation Street and Eastenders teamed up with pop idols Girls Aloud!, Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé Knowles in an improbable star – studded line up on a theatrical tour of 80 Merseyside schools.

From the 3 November CragRats Ltd, in partnership with one of the UK’s Largest Theatre companies, The Learning and Skills Council for Greater Merseyside, will be performing in the region until 5 December. With it’s exciting combination of music, dance and drama, it is hoped to make the promoting of employment and training options more interesting to young people after they have completed their GCSE’s.

The touring careers show with it’s professional cast of four actors will take a unique look at the world around us and introduce post 16 options including NVQ’s, BTECS, City and Guilds, Modern Apprenticeships as well as A’ Levels employment.

The show itself is based around four pupils who are in their final year at School. With mixed attitudes towards sorting out their futures, the students examine what options are available to them post 16. Through understanding different ways of learning, the variety of training pathways available and the importance of getting good advice they reach the conclusion that the sooner they start planning the better.

Pupils and teachers alike will find that this exciting production promises to explore the world of careers like no other. The message about future career options is serious, however pupils will be captivated.
Pamela Todd´s Final Steps

MERSEYSIDE Police is appealing for help in tracing a man seen near to where Pamela Todd's body was found.

Pamela Todd was a 32 year old mother of three whose body was found hidden on the Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee Nature Trail in Southport on 11 August 2003. Pamela had died as a result of wounds to her abdomen and injuries to her neck.

The Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Mike Semple is making a new appeal in a bid to trace the whereabouts of a man seen in the area at the time of Pamela's death.

The Police are keen to stress that the man isn't a suspect, he is known to frequent the nature trail, tidying the area by collecting rubbish. He was seen in the area on the 10th August and is described as white, about 5'8" to 5'9" tall, about 12 stone in weight and in his late 50's. He had collar length hair which was slightly untidy, brown in colour with a ginger tint. He was clean shaven and was wearing a light coloured shirt and dark trousers he also wore a plain plastic orange band around his neck. He spoke with a local Southport accent.

Police have also be released CCTV pictures of Pamela taken in Southport only hours before she was last seen.

Pamela was last seen at 10pm on Thursday 7th August on the Promenade. Detectives would therefore urge anyone who saw her after this time to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Incident Team in Southport on 0151 777 3599 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
