The Bradford keeper was kept busy, but stood firm dominating the goal mouth and preventing his side from falling behind. The visitors only real attempt on the goal, being shot from Carl Serrant, which came off an upright and bounced to safety.

Southport captain Chris Price was brought down in the penalty area by Boswell but the referee gave the decision Bradford's way. Steve Dalys well struck drive was again superbly saved by man of the match Mathew Boswell.

After the Break Southport were caught out by the visitors spoiling tactics, frustrating both players an crowd alike.

Bradford struck in time added on, totally against the run of play. Substitute Craig Smith powered a shot goal wards from 30 yards out which deflected off Barry Jones into the net to the delight of the travelling fans.
