Formby's Walk Of Witness

THE traditional Walk Of Witness was carried out in Formby on Good Friday (9 April) by the Churches Together Group. Members of churches from all over Formby paraded into Formby village centre and assembled to conduct the traditional Good Friday service. The opening was conducted by Dympna Edwards, the chair of the CTiF. Then the congregation sang 'There Is A Green Hill Far Away', followed by a Gospel Reading read by a member of St Jerome's Church (Formby) and then an address by the Rev. Jim Booth, the chair of Liverpool Methodist District. Rev. Booth gave a interesting address, describing Christian Belief as a game of Chess. This followed prayers lead by a member of St Peter's Church (Formby) and the singing of 'When I Survey The Wondrous Cross'. The open air service was concluded with more prayers followed by The Grace lead by Dympna Edwards.

The Churches Together in Formby would like to thank the Merseyside Police for their care and assistance during the event.
