Spreading happiness in the North West on a wing and a prayer...!

DRIVERS across the North West are being urged to brand it like Beckham by pledging their support for England during Euro 2004.

Football fever has hit Widnes dealership Motor Nation, which is offering customers the opportunity to have their new purchases adorned with the St George’s Cross or the three lions emblem.

Nigel Gilmore, Managing Director of the Derby Road store, said:- “With every big football tournament more and more people get involved in showing their support, and this is our way of cheering England on this year.

Motor Nation will offer a service to all commercial vehicles bought at the store where the bonnets can be liveried with the England colours."

G-Litter Clean Up is a Monster success

GRUB the G-Litter Monster has helped turn Liverpool's Monster Clean-Up into a giant success.

More than 450 tonnes of rubbish was cleared from the city's streets in 58 skips and 700 bin bags during the week-long G-Litter Monster Clean-Up, which ended on Saturday.

More than 10,000 people took part in over 20 G-Litter picks across Liverpool.

Schoolchildren, community groups and residents from Anfield, Dingle, Dovecot, Kensington, Kirkdale, Mossley Hill, Netherley, Old Swan, Speke, Toxteth and Wavertree all played their part.

Litter-picking volunteers were entertained by street performers, stilt walkers and Grub The G-Litter Monster, who created a carnival atmosphere along the way.

The G-Litter Monster Clean-Up that was organised by Liverpool City Council and The Liverpool Culture Company, and supported by the Liverpool Echo and Keep Britain Tidy has put the fun back into cleaning up, and has raised awareness about the problem of litter across the city.

Sir Bob Scott, Chairman of The Liverpool Culture Company, said:- "G-Litter has been a monster success. Clearing away 450 tonnes of rubbish will really help make Liverpool sparkle."
