    In a channel hoppers’ dream, Richard Bacon is joined by a panel of celebs to show viewers the weird and wonderful programmes they could be watching on the other side.

7. The Hamburg Cell Channel 4 Thursday 9pm

    Almost three years after 9/11, this chilling drama explores how a group of students in Germany became suicide bombers responsible for an attack which changed the world.

8. Doc Martin ITV1 Thursday 9pm NEW SERIES

    Martin Clunes stars in this quirky drama about a socially inept surgeon who moves to a Cornish village after developing an aversion to blood.  Caroline Catz, Stephanie Cole and Joe Absolom co-star.

9. Carrie & Barry BBC1 Friday 9pm NEW SERIES

    And Clunes’ fellow Man Behaving Badly, Neil Morrissey, features alongside Claire Rushbrook in this cheeky sitcom about a saucy couple dealing with the trials of married life.

10. Green Wing Channel 4 Friday 9.30pm NEW SERIES

     Black Books’  Tamsin Greig and Coupling’s Sarah Alexander are among the stars polishing off their stethoscopes for this raucous new medical comedy which could be the UK’s answer to Scrubs.
