Trust introduces new Trust Board Non-executive Director

SOUTHPORT & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust welcomed a new face to It's Board.

The NHS Appointments Commission has announced the appointment of 33 year old Clare Westcott as a Trust Board Non-executive Director.

Talking about her new role, Clare told the press that:- "I am delighted to have been appointed and look forward to my new role. There are a lot of changes taking place within the Trust and I think my role will be a very challenging one. I will do my best to ensure the services provided by the Trust are delivered as effectively as possible."

Clare is married with a young daughter and lives in Formby where she is involved with the local mothers' group and is the representative of the National Childbirth Trust.

The remuneration for Clare Westcott's post as Non-executive Trust Board Director is £5,673 per annum. She has declared no political affiliation and she holds no other ministerial appointments.

Liverpool's New Air Links Take Off

LIVERPOOL AIRPORT'S new air links to Aberdeen, Cardiff and Plymouth took off this week.

Wales' rapidly expanding national airline, Air Wales, is now operating the twice-daily return services, which fly direct to Aberdeen and Cardiff International Airports. Travellers are also now able to connect to Plymouth City Airport at Cardiff.

Air Wales Chairman, Roy Thomas, said:- "We've researched these routes well and are confident that their launch will fulfil a real need amongst the North West travelling public. Until now, travelling times to these destinations are lengthy and often inconvenient, but by launching this cost effective, twice-a-day service, we hope to address this problem, while also opening up business and tourism opportunities for the North West.

Air Wales is a rapidly expanding airline and we are committed to increasing the portfolio of regional destinations we serve. We look forward to working in close partnership with Liverpool John Lennon
Airport and to making a success of these new services."
