Southport' open-air concert for the Tsunami Appeal

EVEN with the gale raging, Southport still held an open-air concert on Saturday 8 January, to raise funds for the Tsunami appeal.   At the event where Dean Sullivan, Allen Henry, Becky Ball, Kirk Jameson, Leah Murphy, Craig Phillips, Carly Stenson and the Toni James Band to name just a few.

ABD Productions Anne Dalton said:- "We wanted to help the people affected by the terrible events in Asia.   We decided to put on a musical display with help of the Southport Lyons, the Champion, Southport Theater’s Aladdin cast, Scarisbrick Hotel, Sefton Council Tourism, the Toni James Band, Hollyoaks star Carly Stenson and countless others."

Martin Hovden, editor of the Champion said:- "It was cold and hard work, but we came together for a worthwhile cause and raised much needed funds."

The total raised was £2,746.73 and it has been sent to the appeal already.
