High flyers search North West for utterly loopy recruits..!
ARE you waiting for your career to take off? Do you have a head for heights, a taste for adventure and the utterly irresistible desire to spread your wings? If so the world’s only formation wingwalking team, the Utterly Butterlys, may have the job for you.
The team, who last year displayed to over 6 million people and who are sponsored by delicious dairy spread Utterly Butterly, are searching the North West for new wingwalkers to fly with the squad this summer.
“This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” says team leader Vic Norman, “no previous experience is necessary and we will fully train the successful candidates in the utterly amazing art of
wingwalking”.
The wingwalkers will be trained to stand in rigs on the top wing of 1940’s biplanes whilst the aircraft perform a sequence of loops, rolls and turns in front of utterly amazed airshow crowds across the UK.
The rigs can swivel sideways and upside down allowing the daring wingwalkers to perform handstands 1000ft in the air, utterly unbelievable!
“The most exhilarating part of wingwalking is climbing around the aircraft in flight.
I will be training the successful applicants to climb from the open cockpit of the Utterly Butterly biplanes up onto the wing whilst the aircraft is travelling at 100mph,
This is the best job in the world, but North Western daredevils must be fit, agile and utterly determined to succeed at the ultimate in high flying careers!” says experienced wingwalker Helen Tempest.
Due to the overwhelming amount of applicants expected, the team has divided the UK into 13 regions. One Utterly Loopy finalist from each region will be invited to the Gloucestershire home of the Utterly Butterlys to battle it out for the honour of their area, and for the job!
To apply to be the finalist from the North West, budding daredevils should send a CV, covering letter, height & weight details and a recent photograph to:-
- Utterly Loopy Search,
- RFC Rendcomb Airfield,
- The Whiteway,
- Cirencester,
- Glos,

THE PEOPLE'S WEB OPENS THE INTERNET TO MERSEYSIDE RESIDENTS
A revolutionary new low-cost internet service that will enable Merseyside residents to buy and sell unlimited goods and services for an annual flat-fee of just £5 launches today. Developed to open up the power of the web to the nation, The People's Web allows individuals and companies to buy, sell and swap products through a one-stop online marketplace.
Unlike other online selling services, account holders pay no commission or transaction charges, and can search, buy and sell on a regional basis. Merseyside residents and businesspeople can therefore choose to shop online in their immediate area or use the service to access the entire UK.
Searching the People's Web for products is absolutely free, while account holders can place details about sale items and wanted ads once an annual £5 membership is purchased. Companies of any size can upload their entire product range to the site, with small businesses and trades people paying just £25.
Tim Hayes, chairman of The People's Web says:- "The People's Web was created in order to put the power of the web back into the hands of the people. We're a matchmaker, not a middleman, so we don't profit from any sales made through our site, just we simply provide a website where buyers and sellers can meet and arrange their own transactions.
Consumers are dismayed by the hidden fees associated with using online shopping and swapping services, and the prospect of online fraud, while small businesses are losing the online battle because of the cost of building and maintaining their websites."
In the run up to its consumer launch, The People's Web enjoyed a successful trial period, during which time businesses uploaded 50,000 products.

LIVERPOOL hosts the prestigious Four Nations boxing championships this week. The best amateur boxers from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales will enter the ring at the Liverpool Olympia this week. Liverpool trio David Price, Nick MacDonald and Brett Flournoy will be among the fighters representing England. Liverpool City Council's boxing development officer, Paul King, said:- "We're looking forward to two days of world-class boxing in front of sell-out crowds at the Olympia. The Four Nations is a real highlight of the amateur boxing calendar and I'm delighted that we are hosting the championships again because it's such a thrill to see the four national flags flying in Liverpool. The fact that the winners will face the Cubans next month adds extra spice to an already mouth-watering occasion."
Liverpool City Council's executive member for leisure, Councillor Warren Bradley, said:-
"Liverpool is well established as Britain's number one boxing city and hosting these championships is yet another feather in our cap. With 3 of Liverpool's brightest boxing talents in action, the tournament has really captured the imagination of local sports fans."
