Southport FC Celebration Parade
Report and photos by Sally Devine

ON Sunday 22 May 2005 Southport Football club paraded their Nationwide Championship trophy around the town center last Sunday. The heavy rain failed to dampen the spirits as the open top bus set off from Haig Avenue with the team on board accompanied by wives and partners. A large crowd waved them off and the route took them down Eastbank St into Lord St and on to the promenade and Ocean Boulevard, passing over the Marine Way Bridge and arriving at the Scarisbrick hotel where the Mayor of Sefton was waiting to greet them along with a large contingent of supporters.

The team were afforded a civic reception at the hotel to celebrate the seasons achievement.

Good Luck Southport FC for next year.
