COOL JOOLS ORCHESTRATES A POPS OPENING!

IT IS TRUE!!!! Perennial Pops favorite, JOOLS HOLLAND returns to Liverpool this year for his sixth consecutive appearance as he opens the month long Summer festival.

He joins the illustrious line up featuring a double sell out by rock legends The Who, along with shows from New Order, Bryan Adams, Pet Shop Boys, a-ha, James Brown, Westlife, Simple Minds, Simply Red, Whitesnake, Ronan Keating, Oscar Peterson, Sugababes, Il Divo, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy.

During the Pops six year history, organisers CMP Entertainment have consistently brought some of the biggest names in pop and rock to the month long event in Liverpool which has become recognised as one of the key dates on the European festival circuit.

For over twenty years now Jools Holland has entertained audiences all over the world with his virtuoso piano playing and affectionate take on rhythm and blues. Since forming his famous Rhythm and Blues Orchestra in the late '80s, they have evolved into a stunning 14 piece band, selling out hundreds of shows a year all over Britain and Europe, from Canterbury Cathedral and Kew Gardens to the Glastonbury Festival.

Along the way, Jools has released a number of hit albums, including 2004's 'Swinging The Blues, Dancing The Ska', on which he's performed and recorded with some of the most talented musicians and songwriters in the world, including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Sting, BB King, Luther Vandross, and Paul Weller. He's also of course found time to present the hugely popular and influential 'Later...' music show on BBC 2.

This show is set to feature some very special, surprise guests, which bearing in mind Jools' list of past collaborators, should be very special indeed!

Promoter Chas Cole said:- "Jools is a huge favorite of the Summer Pops and things just wouldn't be the same without him! He's the musicians' musician."
