DAREDEVIL STUNTS AT THE LIVERPOOL MILITARY SHOW
Photographs thanks to the British Army

THOUSANDS of families from across the North West will enjoy a fun and informative day at Walton Hall Park from Saturday 27th to Monday 29th May as soldiers from across the country gather at the Liverpool Military Show to demonstrate their skills.

The show, organised by the Liverpool Armed Forces Careers Office, is a showcase of the jobs and expertise that can be gained from a career with the Army.

This year will prove a real eye-opener for families, with a huge range of interactive activities and lots of local soldiers on hand to talk about Army life, some of whom have just returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. Highlights will include a daredevil performance from the Royal Signals White Helmets Motorcycle display team and a stunning freefall parachute display from the Parachute Regiment's Red Devils.

Among the many hands-on activities available for youngsters will be paintball ranges, motorcycle rides, face painting and casualty simulation with the Army Medical Core.

Organiser Major Bob Dobson says:- "The Liverpool Military Show is now in its 5th year but it just gets better and better. With nearly 30 displays and dedicated villages packed with displays and activities I'm sure that the event will be one that the Liverpool community are very proud.

As one of the UK's biggest employers we feel it's essential that families have the opportunity to find out from the horse's mouth what Army life is all about. People are unaware of the range of different jobs available within the Army, its not all about combat, we have nine different career groups ranging from engineers to medics. We are not just fighters but life savers too and events like this give us a chance to bring the various career groups to life."

The part-time forces of the North West region's Territorial Army will also be attending the show hosting various displays and activities.

The Liverpool Military Show will be held at Walton Hall Park from 27 May 06 to 29 May 2006, from 11am to 4pm. A small entry fee will be charged in support of service charities, for more information please contact the Liverpool Armed Forces Careers Office on 0151 236 1566.
