Fireworks at Southport FC

ON Bonfire Night, 5 November 2006 the sky above the Southport Football Club grounds, Haig Avenue, was light up with a firework display.

The club said:- "We did not expect this to be as big an event as it was. We got over 4,000 people through the gates to see our Firework Extravaganza. Many Thanks to all those who supported the event, especially Graham Eyes Butchers of Churchtown and all the other stall holders who reported a bumper evening."

The show in the sky was accompanied by appropriate classical music pumped out on the grounds PA system and the show took over 15 minutes leaving spectators and the club astounded.

Well done and we look forward to the next one, next year. This was a spectacular display and well organised.
