BILL BRYSON ASKS PUPILS TO DIG THEIR PLAYING FIELDS!
THE big switch
on happened on 19 November 2006 on Lord Street, Southport. Lucky the
weather that hit the rest of the UK over the weekend did not hit the
event, that brought out massive crowds who lined the parade route
from Pleasureland to the Fire Station.
Leading the parade was Santa, who took
time off from his work, getting ready for the big day. He was also
joined by the a large band, lots of dancers, Elvis in a car... local
radio station SCR, Southport Lifeboat, some of the cast of the Peter
Pan, Christmas Show from the Southport Arts Centre, a local church
group with a Nativity display and lots more... Here are a few shots
taken of the parade.
