Southport Community Radio's Last Night On Air...

THE last night of SCR was on Sunday 14 January 2007 when it's test licence broadcast time ran out at 00:00.00 on 13 January 2007. The last two records played by the team were "Hello and Good Bye" ending with "Its a kind of magic". Katy M was the last presenter on the radio. Bringing the night to a close was Mike Swift who thanks every one on air and then the important:- "Thank you and good night!" Thus ended four weeks of fantastic music and entertainment, which has brought together the community of Southport. "Since 18 December 2006, we have been transmitting 24 hours a day and what a time we have had.   We play music continuously through the night and during the day we bring you interviews with interesting local people and personalities as well as great tunes.

We would like to thank Southport Reporter for their support and contributions throughout the broadcast...

This was the second of two month-long trials with the intention of obtaining a five-year broadcast licence and we hope to be on the air again very soon.

Please can you help us to keep us on the air by sending us your support to support our bid by emailing us to:- jessop@radiosouthport.com or write to:- Southport Radio Ltd,PO Box 400, Southport, Merseyside."  SCR Managing Director, Jon Jessop.

Thank you to all the public for your support! SCR Managing Director Jon Jessop promised:- "WE WILL BE BACK!"
