Rhys Jones investigation - CCTV released...

CCTV image of a cyclistMerseyside Police where released the CCTV footage taken from outside the Fir Tree public house on the evening of Rhys Jones' murder.

The images have been enhanced by experts, who have been working on the recordings for the last few weeks. The investigation team is also now speaking to leading international organisations with the aim of carrying out further enhancements.

The footage shows a cyclist, who was in the area at the time. He is seen cycling behind the Fir Tree in the seconds before and after Rhys was shot.

Detectives believe he may have been involved in the shooting and the footage was released to the BBC for an appeal on Crimewatch Wednesday, 26 September 2007.

Police are building up a clear picture of the circumstances surrounding the death of the 11-year-old and the investigation continues to move in a positive direction.

Detectives are pleased with the level of support and information from the public.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Supt Dave Kelly said:- "These images may be grainy but we are sure that if this is your son, grandson, brother, friend or neighbour, you will recognise them from this footage.

The moving footage on tonight's show will be particularly revealing, as you will be able to see the cyclist's mannerisms and movement.

We are making steady progress with this investigation and are following some strong lines of enquiry.

We are also speaking to international experts about further enhancement of the CCTV.

The offender and any others involved in this need to know we are determined to prosecute those responsible. We are doing everything possible to build up a strong evidential case, which will put those responsible behind bars."

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to contact the major incident room on 0151 777 8722 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Farmaggedon Press Night

SOMETHING strange is going on and it is set to thrill adults throughout October 2007, at Worrall House Farm.

We headed on over to see Farnaggedon, so we could report on the ghoulish going on and let you know what is install, should you find the courage to head on over to the farm...

By day the farm is set to entertain children, but by night the horror is set free and from what we found, even the most brave come out screaming.

The event is based on Halloween attractions in America and as one of the many guests on the press night said:- “It is one of the most frilling things in the area for the season.  Well worth the trip over the otherside to see it!”

To give you an idea of what you can see, we have been allowed to snap a few shots. Also if you want more information, log onto www.farmaggedon.co.uk
