JODRELL BANK CLOSURE WOULD BE MADNESS
THE Liberal
Democrat Leader Nick Clegg on Thursday, 6 March 2008, called for the
Government to spread scientific expertise across the country, as it
was reported that the Jodrell Bank telescope array may be closed.
Commenting as he visited Oldham, Nick Clegg said:- “The
Government cannot keep changing its mind on its support for UK
science.
To scrap a prestigious and important project such as Jodrell Bank
would show a worrying lack of foresight at any time. For this to be
planned shortly after awarding the facility £8m to upgrade the
telescopes is nothing short of madness.
It is vital that the benefits and expertise that flow from
scientific projects are spread across the country. If the Government
insists on closing Jodrell Bank, it will send a hugely negative
signal about the importance of scientific projects outside of the
South East of England.”

Capilla

ON Friday 7
March 2008, we headed on over to Capilla to get some snaps... The
venue is so far removed from what it was like as Springboks, you
would not think it was even the same building. It is well lit, with
a fantastic audio system and set to be come one of the major venues
in the town. Over the next few weeks, we will be heading Capilla, on
Waverley Street in Southport, to get a few more photographs, for
their
advert on Mersey Reporter, so if you are in town and want to be
photographed... make for Capilla and you might get snapped by us.
No, we are not telling you when we are going, so keep a look out and
get seen at Southport's latest and definitely one of the most unique
bars in town... It is truly the place to be seen in!
