World Firefighter Games - Part 2
SPECTATORS and fire-fighters from
all over the world descended on Merseyside for the World
Fire-fighter Games that ended on Thursday 2 September 2008. The
event was a fantastic opportunity for the people of Liverpool and
Merseyside to show off the area, and they did. A spokesman for the
World Fire-fighter Games 2008 said:- "From all the competitors
who have taken part and from our selves, the organisers, we would
like to thank the people of Merseyside for their support. The
support the public has show us, throughout the region, has been
amazing. Well done, to all the competitors and also to you, the
people of Merseyside, for making what has been the best ever World
Fire-fighter Games! Also a special mention to our in house TV crews
made up from students from John Moores University who have produced
daily broadcasts of all the events around the city."
