Bar Non's 12th Birthday A Big Hit!

WITH all the cold weather around the UK it was good to see so many turn up to Bar Non’s 12th Birthday bash, and what an atmosphere it was as well. This amazing event, on Saturday, 31 January 2009, started around 9:30pm. By 11pm the bar was filling and by 12pm the club was reaching bursting point. It has been a long time in Southport since I have seen a queue. like that outside the venue! It felt more like Christmas back in the late 1990’s than a normal night in Southport, thanks to the icy cold weather outside and the party atmosphere spilling out onto Waverley Street! By 00:30am the club reached its capacity, yet outside the queue grew and grew. At one point it snaked past Starbucks and onto Lord Street. Despite the fact no more clubbers could enter, they still braved the cold night air, staying in line and partying as they waited for a chance to enter. Then at 2:30am the party inside erupted into a frenzy of excitement as Jason Heard vs Flashlight started with what was his exceptional live performance of his smash hit, ‘My Girl’. By the end of that you could feel the electricity in the air as the clubbers cheered and Jason Heard took a walk through the dance floor shaking hands along the way. After he left, the party went on and outside the queue still grew… This was a highly memorable night. Bar Non's owners told us that:- “We would like to thank everyone who turned up. It has been such a memorable night. We have to say a big ‘sorry’ to a lot of dirty disco clubbers who couldn't get in. Sadly, we did warn you that it was going to be a very busy night and to be early. Don't forget to look out for February 09, events as we have lots more to come in our 12th year. As you can see we are now one of, if not the best of Southport’s leading nightlife entertainment spots and we aim to develop this further over the next year.”
