Under 11  - Redgate 0 Jaguars 9

This was a comfortable win for the Jags with some good performances from individuals in each half.

The game started off quite evenly for the 1st 10 mins with neither side being able to take control of the game.  Jags eventually started to up their game and were rewarded with a penalty for a handball which resulted in a well taken penalty by Tyler R to open the scoring for the Jags.  This was followed up with a another goal by Tyler R followed by a hatrick from Ryan C to take us into a 5-0 halftime lead.

The Jags came out for the 2nd half and continued to carry on from where they had finished the 1st adding further goals, the best of the game being a double 1-2 with Tyler R and Josh H and a perfect cross for Dan S to head a glancing ball into the net.

There were fine performances today from Kyle D, who was again solid at the back and Cam C who defended and distributed the ball well.  Another fine performance from Tyler R who played well in midfield and a good second half from Josh H who put some good through balls in before finishing off with a special 40yard goal.

MOM for his goals and playing very well in midfield was JOSH A. Thanks to Tony and the boys at Redgate for the game being played in a good spirit.

Under 16 - Billinge 2 Town Green 0

A perfect pitch, warm early morning sunshine and a great performance by Billinge saw Billinge's early season cobwebs vanish as they performed as we know they can when they need to as they moved into top gear today.

Town Green came on a high having only dropped 2 points to a very useful Seldon's team earlier last week and were in the mood to pick up points.

It was the 1st half onslaught which hit them like a battering ram and personified with the performance from MOM Connolly who rode every challenge, tackled everything that moved and was a massive foil for Bradshaw. Jacko playing alongside Connolly ran his socks off to nullify anything loose and it was these boys together with the back 4 who provided the licence for Bradshaw, Peete and Jones to push forward on a huge pitch. Fredders up front worked tirelessly and did not get the rewards his efforts deserved today with no goal capping his 16th Birthday.

The action started after 2 minutes with a Bradshaw knock down to Fredders whose shot was well saved by the TG keeper. After a couple of corners were won by Billinge but wasted T G broke away and the shot was easily saved by Anthony.

After 24 minutes a great through ball from Connolly saw Bradshaw's effort inches over from a tight angle. 2 minutes later it was the turn of Fredders whose shot was just over the bar. TG then played a ball into the box and the cross shaved the Billinge post but the ball was hacked clear. This galvanised Billinge who had outmuscled T G in midfield and 2 minutes later it was Bradshaw who turned on the edge of the box and fired in an unstoppable shot into the bottom left hand corner of the goal to allow Billinge to go 1-0 ahead.

3 minutes later, with TG rocking, a great cross on the right from Bradshaw saw Peete on the far post chest the ball down spin , turn and fire the ball into the net to make it 2-0 to Billinge.

There was just time for a T G corner to be driven in and the resultant scramble seeing the shot hit straight at Anthony for Billinge to go in 2-0 up at half time.

With one of the meanest defences in the League it would be an uphill battle for TG in the 2nd half and so it proved but T G to give them credit came back at Billinge who then adjusted to the tactics but there was a scare when a goalmouth scramble saw TG fire the ball over the Billinge bar from 8 yards out. 10 minutes in and Bradshaw just failed to get on the end of a great cross from Fredders and then Bradshaw again fired at the TG goal but at 35 yards out the shot lacked venom and was gathered by the TG keeper.

A further chance came with a great Connolly through ball to Fredders who brought the ball down on his chest , struck the ball wide of the TG keeper who launched himself to his left to keep out the shot. The game then went flat for 10 minutes or so with a Bradshaw shot wide finishing the action.
