Under 16 - Billinge 0 Forefield 3

A windy day and an untypically poor second half performance by Billinge saw them lose a game where the scoreline was a fair one from Forefield's point of view.

The first half was aggressive from Forefield contrasting with Billinge's more technical play. The referee allowed the game to flow and allowed Forefield, because of a combination of their style of play and Billinge's below par midfield performances, to shade the first half.

Billinge still gave as good as they got in the first half and Hook saw a long range effort gathered by Forefield's keeper. Then Billinge pressing for a 1-0 lead before half time saw Bradshaw set the ball back to Connolly on the edge of the box and his piledriver was saved well.

Billinge hit the bar twice so the scoreline whilst flattering Forefield was reflective of the fact that Forefield dominated the second half into the wind.

One such move saw Fredders, working his socks off, he set the ball back for Jacko who thundered his shot against Forefield's bar for Billinge. Bradshaw hit the bar also two minutes later with a great lob.

The sucker punch arrived on 38 minutes after a great Forefield move saw Carl finish into the top left corner to allow Forefield to go in at 1-0 at half time.

This gave them something to protect and in addition in the second half they began to dominate the midfield as Billinge were forced on the back foot.

The rest of the second half was one to forget for Billinge as they lost control of the midfield and conceded two more goals one after a corner was not cleared properly and another when a second ball was not cleared into the box as everyone stopped.

Billinge, in short, failed to fashon any clear second half chances to get themselves back into the game.

MOM - Crawford - Hit every tackle and carried on playing well until final whistle
