WHAT an amazing show! This is one of the most visually stunning and is well arranged musically, even following the original story closely. The blending of the cutting edge CGI-animated film is in perfect sync with the show. It has not only a live band but it is also choreographed to fit into live performances by actors and will make ya bug eyed, just like their 3 tonne, 35f (10.668m) tall Martian Fighting Machine! The 46 musicians on stage create a really evocative mood. The five guest artists, Jason Donovan, Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon, X-Factor's Rhydian, Moody Blues’ Justin Hayward, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s Chris Thompson and Ivor Novello award winning composer and producer Jeff Wayne then add to this, giving the audience an interactive experience... If your eyes were not dazzled by all that and your ears not sated by the sound, then the show delivered more with an 11 foot high 3D photo realistic, floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist! Then supplement them with improved real flame Heat Rays, explosions, leaf drops, real flames and a breathtaking Levitation and a Vanishing Act created by award-winning illusionists 'The Twins'! It is no wonder as to why this show is back after not one, but 4 hugely successful and critically acclaimed sell out tours. Let’s hope it heads back again to the arena next year! It was our pleasure to have been invited as media to see this production.
