Holyrood Nursery at Princes Dock Liverpool Graded Ofsted as "Outstanding"

THE Holyrood Nursery’s at Peel’s prestigious Princes Dock development has been graded 'Outstanding' in a recent Ofsted report. Defined by Ofsted to mean:- "this aspect of the provision is of exceptionally high quality", the nursery, which is located at No.4 Princes Dock and inspected in early February achieved the highest possible accolade available across all seventeen areas inspected.

On completion of her visit the inspecting officer described the service as simply outstanding giving further praise in her report, a document the nursery team are rightly very proud of.

The report states that:- "Overall the quality of the provision is Outstanding" and goes on to say:- "The children are making excellent progress in their learning and development, as the staff recognise the uniqueness of every child. Activities are interesting and challenging, which helps the children to make continual progress. Safeguarding is given utmost priority, ensuring the children's welfare and happiness. Partnerships with parents and other providers who deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage promote exceptional quality of education and care."

Nursery Manager Paula Williams said:- "As a team we all work incredibly hard to ensure we provide the very best of care, learning and facilities, we believe our service is outstanding and it is wonderful to hear that our regulators agree with us. We’ve got a fabulous team of staff, highly supportive and involved parents and terrific children who all work together, respect, value and care for each other. Together we are outstanding."

Liza Marco, Property Manager at Princes Dock said:- "This is fantastic news for Holyrood Nursery and we are delighted to have such an excellent childcare provision at Princes Dock, along with the wide variety of other amenities from coffee shops to gyms. We are sure that this report will make a very popular nursery even more desirable to families and we wish Holyrood continued success with their business."

This is the second piece of good news for Princes Dock with a week, as the new convenience store opened at the development.

Now the Holyrood team are hoping plenty more sunshine will come their way on Friday, 30 March 2012, when they will be hosting a wonderful celebratory event at the nursery.

The festivities will commence at 12noon with a certificate presentation at 1p.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon with a buffet lunch, tasty treats, fun activities, entertainment and lots more.

Paula and the team invite you to join them on their wonderful day and share the happiness to be found in this outstanding nursery.

Princes Dock is a hub of business activity set in 14.5 hectares, and part of the £6 billion redevelopment scheme of Liverpool waterfront; Liverpool Waters.

It is located adjacent to the iconic Liver Building alongside the new cruise liner facility. The new Leeds to Liverpool canal link extension also passes through the development.

There are over 2,500 people employed within Princes Dock with occupiers including Coutts Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG. All occupiers benefit from on-site car parking, 24 hour security services, dedicated on-site maintenance team, on site member health and leisure club, a cafe, bars, restaurants, day nursery, and convenience store that opened on 26 March 2012.

In addition to 3 Grade A office buildings Princes Dock is home to 2 high quality hotels; the Crown Plaza and Malmaison, 3 luxury apartment towers and a 760 space multi storey car park.

Lancashire’s Young people invited to make performance history

A Lancashire theatre searching for young people who want to make history. Metropolis is a once in a lifetime opportunity for today’s young generation to take part in an event encompassing dance, music, acting, light projections and film in front of an audience of around 2,000 people at Preston’s Guild Hall.

Lancaster's Dukes theatre will be producing the spectacular as part of Preston Guild 2012. This one-off performance on 7 September 2012 will be like nothing seen in Preston before.

Dukes creative learning director, Guy Christiansen who is the project director, said:- "We’re really proud that The Dukes has been given this opportunity to bring together hundreds of young people to have this amazing experience."

Reflecting Guild year, the event will have 'trade' at its heart as the young people trade their skills, ideas, ambitions and dreams for the future.

Led by a professional team from The Dukes, Metropolis will see Preston’s young people in the driving seat. The project will be developed over the next few months with schools, youth clubs, independent young people’s groups and any individuals who want to take part.

Recruitment is underway for a series of creative taster sessions taking place at Preston College over the weekends of 14 April to 15 April, 21 April to 22 April and 5 May to 6 May 2012.

During these weekends, more than 600 young people aged 13 to 19 will work with artists and creative thinkers, exploring and making a statement about life in Preston in 2012 and what Preston’s young people have to offer the world, now and in the near future.

Following the taster weekends, 125 young people will be chosen to work as the production team taking on roles as performers, artists, musicians, dancers, DJs, MCs, apprentice stage managers, apprentice designers, apprentice technicians and artistic and pastoral support workers.

During weekends in July 2012 and August 2012, the team will create and rehearse the event before it is staged in front of an audience of friends, family, invited guests and VIPs.

Anyone interested in discovering more about this exciting opportunity, should contact project director, Guy Christiansen on:- 01524 598516 or visit:- dukes-lancaster.org for more information.
