Wanted by Police - Peter Stead

DERBYSHIRE Police are appealing for help from the public nationwide to find a man they want to speak about a series of frauds committed in the county. In the summer of 2009, a man allegedly tricked pub landlords in Derby out of money by claiming to be Danny Kay; the brother of comedian Peter Kay. He offered to put on comedy nights to raise money for the Lewis Mighty Fund, a charity raising money for Lewis, who died from neuroblastoma last year. The man was given cash by the landlords to secure the booking but failed to perform. Officers want to speak to Peter Stead (50) in connection with the incidents. It is thought that he could be anywhere in the country. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should call Police on:- 101 or Crimestoppers on:- 0800 555 111.

INJURY SHOOTING - IRLAM ROAD

MERSEYSIDE Police Detectives are appealing for information following a shooting on Sunday, 14 April 2013, in Bootle in which a 24 year old man was injured.

At around 10.20pm officers were called to Irlam Road to reports of shots being fired. On arrival there was no one at the scene but a short time later, a 24 year old man presented himself at hospital with injuries to his leg and buttock. He remains in hospital where his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Irlam Road was cordoned off by officers for forensic examination and CCTV from the area is being examined. House to house enquiries will also be carried out.

At this early stage of the investigation the motive for the incident is unknown, however detectives are treating it as a targeted attack and working to piece together the events of the evening.

At this stage of the investigation the victim is not cooperating with Police enquiries.

Detective Inspector Lee Schofield said:- "We are appealing for anyone in this area, who may have witnessed this incident, to come forward. I am also particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw, or the drivers of, a silver Volvo and also a moped. Both were seen in the area at the time of the incident. We are relentless in our pursuit of guncrime criminals and residents will have seen and will continue to see Police activity in this area, however the public are our eyes and ears and I would urge anyone who has any information about this incident to get in contact."

Officers would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Matrix team on:- 0151 777 8567 or Crimestoppers anonymously on:- 0800 555 111.
