Southport under21s pregnancy group Christmas Party.
Report by a group member called Jan.
THE Southport young mums pregnancy group is a great place for young mums to make friends and get brilliant advice and support on Labour, and your babies wellbeing.  On the 15 December They held their Christmas Party.  The shots of all who took part.   This is a appropriate time to think about young mothers and the difficulties they have.  If you are one of them why not go to the group, and see what it is all about.

The group meets every Friday and each week we have a certain themes, we have talks on coping with stress, Labour advice were the mums talk to the mums-to-be, a Mothercare speaker comes in to chat about basic toys and clothing, we have contraception talks, baby first aid and a pampering session.

A midwife is present each week to give antenatal checks, and to also answer any questions you have. There is also a crèche, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet!
The group is free of charge but their is a raffle of baby goods to raise money for drinks and biscuits. Most weeks freebies are given out, these can either be for yourself or for the baby.
It may be a bit daunting going to a new group at first but the mums and mums-to-be who go are very friendly and take time out to welcome new people into the group after all we all have one thing in common! We are all young mummy's!

Happy Christmas to you all from Southport Reporter!
