eyecare at Specsavers in Southport
SPECSAVERS in Southport has introduced
a cutting edge new way of selecting and fitting customers' glasses, using
imaging software on tablet devices.
The opticians, located in Eastbank Street, now offers Digital Precision Eyecare,
which ensures everyone receives excellent professional care and advice in frame
selection and dispensing for their prescription, vision and lifestyle needs.
Stuart Roberts, store director of Specsavers in Southport says:- "This is
very clever kit and has a real wow factor for customers. It's a quick and easy
process which ensures accurate measurements every time."
Following an eye examination, the optical team assists customers in selecting
their preferred glasses. Imaging software on a tablet is then used to take an
image of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential
dispensing measurements. These are unique to the customer and their chosen
glasses.
Stuart commented:- 'The tablet can also be used to show you what you look
like wearing a range of different glasses to help you make your choice. The
intelligent software also helps you choose by any lens options you might want,
by demonstrating what they do in real time.'
Digital Precision Eyecare is now available in all Specsavers stores in the UK
and Ireland. It is currently being promoted via a widespread advertising
campaign, including national television commercials.
Stuart adds:- 'Digital Precision Eyecare is all about providing a highly
professional service in as convenient a way as possible for our customers. Our
staff are fully trained in using this new equipment, and their expertise remains
a pivotal part of the service. So far the feedback we have received from
customers has been very positive. Put simply, everyone that wants glasses can be
confident of being provided with a pair that are measured accurately and look
fantastic.'
Specsavers stocks almost 2,000 pairs of glasses, starting from just £25 to the
latest designer styles from £99 to £169. All glasses come with PENTAX single
vision lenses and a scratch resistant treatment. |

Freedom of the City for
Alder Hey
1 of Europe's largest and busiest
children's hospitals, Alder Hey, will be granted the Freedom of the City at a
special ceremony next week.
On Monday, 18 May 2015, Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust will be admitted to
Liverpool City Council's Freedom Roll in recognition of the excellent treatment
and care of children and young people across the City and beyond.
Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Erica Kemp CBE said:- "I am delighted
to be honouring such a worthy recipient. The staff in Alder Hey work tirelessly
to provide the best possible care to children in a professional, caring and
friendly manner. They have made such an enormous difference to the lives of so
many families, not just in Liverpool but across the UK. As with so many grateful
families I would like to extend my personal appreciation to the staff at the
Trust. In January 2014, our grandson Jonah was born seriously ill. He was
operated on a few days later and I am now delighted to say he is a wonderful,
happy and healthy boy. My admiration for the treatment and care at Alder
Hey is limitless as is my thanks and appreciation to all the staff who work
there, past and present. They are truly deserving of this honour."
Sir David Henshaw, Chair of Alder Hey says:- "Alder Hey plays a vital role
in the health of children, not just in Liverpool but nationally and
internationally and we are well known for clinical excellence and high quality
care. However this would not be possible without the support we receive from
